Mumbai news updates: City reports 421 new Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

Mumbai on Friday recorded 421 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 7,52,807, while the death toll climbed to 16,202 with five more deaths. Active cases in the city stand at 4,461. Also, 490 patients were discharged today, taking the total number of recoveries to 7,29,621. Mumbai's average recovery rate now stands at 97 per cent. Mumbai highrise fire: BEST bus routes affected

Due to the fire incident, and the road being cleared for fire engines and other rescue vehicles, bus services on three routes -- 2, 14 and 63 were affected in the Up and Down directions. The buses were back on the routes after nearly five hours, an official said. A massive fire erupted on the 19th floor of the One Avighna Park building on Currey Road on Friday. Full story

Actress Ananya Pandya has left the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office after being questioned for more than four hours. She appeared at the NCB office at 2:30 pm on Friday. The actress appeared for the second time on Friday before the NCB to record her statement in connection with her alleged WhatsApp chats with Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, arrested in a drugs case, sources said.
