'Madame Web' Review: Dakota Johnson Gets Trapped in Her Own 'Morbius'
Sony's 'Madame Web' is an utterly tedious slog of a movie drained of fun visuals and, most pressingly, any sense of tangible humanity.

If you were curious about checking out the critically maligned Madame Web, the latest film in Sony's questionable cinematic universe, but didn't want to pay for a ticket, now is your chance. Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) stars as Cassie Webb, a paramedic who gains psychic abilities after an accident. When the evil Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim) goes after three teenage girls, Cassie decides to take them under her wing, sensing that they will become Spider-Women in the future. S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) directs the movie, which also stars Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You), Isabela Merced (Turtles All the Way Down), Celeste O'Connor (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Mike Epps (The Upshaws), Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), and Adam Scott (Severance).

'Sting' Review: A Creepy Spider Horror Movie That Gets Caught in Its Own Web
Hey, at least it's still a better spider movie than Madame Web.

Who isn't at least a little bit creeped out by spiders? Following in the spirit of movies like Arachnophobia and Eight Legged Freaks, comes Sting. Alyla Browne (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga) stars as preteen Charlotte who has taken a liking to her new pet, a spider that mysteriously fell from the sky which she lovingly names Sting. Charlotte's attachment to Sting brings great concern to her family and neighbors, and soon enough the spider begins to grow to new unnatural sizes. As Sting's thirst for blood begins terrorizing everyone in her apartment building, Charlotte realizes that she is the only one who can stop her pet gone wild. Kiah Roache-Turner wrote and directed the horror-comedy which also stars Ryan Corr (House of the Dragon), Penelope Mitchell (Hemlock Grove), Robyn Nevin (The Matrix Reloaded), and Jermaine Fowler (Ricky Stanicky).
