Slow and dull
davidph25214 February 2019
I've had more suspense opening a can of beans to reveal the contents.... and more fun too.

It was a 5* rating on Sky, that somehow made it worse. I guess I watched the whole thing to try and find out how it had that rating.

What I discovered was that Sky seem to have given this the wrong title and confused it and it's rating with the 2018 movie by the name of "Fever" and not its actual title that is "Fever Mountain".

Definitely one to miss

Man Paints Wall: The Movie
wwejournalist23 February 2019
I'm rarely (VERY rarely) compelled to turn a film off before its conclusion, but I couldn't make it through this one.

Thrown right into the story with no explanation (and from other reviews I understand that doesn't change for the entirety of the movie) things go from slow to glacial as the gormless protagonist gets jumped in his own home by a hobbled woman in a gas mask then fails to fend her off multiple times.

A stranger eats some cat food, the protagonist eats a spider after failing to open a tin of Shepard's pie... and he paints a wall.

Those are the highlights of the film right there.

It's almost as if they knew how unutterably dull this was and put the painting scenes in as a joke; you are quite literally watching paint dry.

Worst of all as others have mentioned, Sky have this listed as a 4.5 - 5 star!

The cat stole the show
spamade17 February 2019
Seriously, this must be one of the worst films I've ever sat through. Terrible acting (except for the cat), and no discernible plot line.

Somehow it got padded out to +90 minutes but it's slower than a two legged horse. Avoid like the plague.

In front of your door
kosmasp18 October 2017
Anyone who has seen "Right at your door" may have a bar, a sort of standard for those particular kinds of movies, that are meant to be claustrophobic and inside a house, where one or more main characters are hunkered down for whatever reasons they may have. In this case, we never get the full scoop, but it's not really needed.

Some may feel it might have been a better choice to make the characters a bit more accessible, or rather friendly sort of. But that's one of the selling points of the movie. And one tough task for the actors involved. There are quite a few nice surprises along the way and the end does work for what it did set up. But pacing wise this may be too straining for some. If you get into it, it is more than decent, especially for a low budget affair

Oh my....
shanefletch24 February 2019
I do love a good old virus outbreak movie, Shaun of the dead, dawn of the dead and all the other great movies out there. This game however is one of them great movies... the great movies which suck really bad! I rather watch a black screen to be honest with you.

So, what did I watch? I watched a random guy heading to a random town, living in his relatives house or family home (I don't really care to be honest). A random girl comes into the story and that's really about it. 2 people, in a house!

Very dull, boring and I had to switch off a hour into the movie.

A piece of brilliance?
mulcahyj-0754523 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Many reviewers on IMDB could be giving this movie a low rating and review as they don't seem to understand the deeper meaning, the philosophical comment on human life and society and bleakness of reality of the human psyche. When I understand it I will get back to you. I doubt that will be any time soon as I didn't get what it was trying to say either. It did have good points. Two main acting talents were quite good. If it was trying to express bleakness it got that very right.

The plot twist as it was wasof the it came to the male lead ending up having a leg injury like the female character and may have shared the same culprit though that was not clear and more importantly he ended up in cabin where she, possibly, came from and she ended up living in his house though again it was not totally clear if that we she disappeared to.

The overall point or meaning of the film I was not totally sure of and I will not be watching it again to find any deeper insight. The nature of the virus fever was not explained at all. This did not have any issues with me, I would just liked more insight in to the characters and their motives. I did not require a total explanation, just a little to build up plot and raise my empathy to the two leads. I made a joke earlier in my review about the deeper meaning to this movie, it may well have on. I just did not get it. I actually did want to see how the characters story evolved and concluded. There was a conclusion the story, it wasn't left totally open ended. A movie being left totally open ended anyway I don't find a problem in film as long as I have some kind of plot to work with.

I really do hope some reviewers find this movie a better experience than me as there is talent in it and it is well filmed in many ways. Just not enough for me unfortunately.

Oh, and the cat was brilliant in it!

Beyond bad
dtzebra-501778 June 2019
Sometimes films are so bad they're funny, so worth watching, but this is incomprehensibly bad. There are many unanswered questions in this film but the one that annoys me the most is - why did his parents not have a tin opener?

No care
Leofwine_draca6 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
MOUNTAIN FEVER is yet another cheap and poor independent-feeling production set mostly in a single room with badly staged direction and a lifeless feel to the proceedings. Apparently there was a flu pandemic that destroyed most of the world's population, leaving the survivors the usual feral bunch. Our hero - a goonish English fella who makes me embarrassed to be English - holes up in an alpine cabin but before long finds himself besieged on all sides. It's the recipe for a suspense flick all right, but this one never gets off the ground and you simply don't care about what transpires.

Lies
samyex-2865414 February 2019
Not exactly a terrible film but it's not good, especially when now tv says its 5 stars clearly isn't. I'd rather watch the night eats the world again. (Infinitely better)

Rubbish, so so dull
andybrook-860-8618229 October 2019
Please don't even bother, need I say more, I really wished I'd read the reviews prior to selecting this tripe. I normally like movies based upon an end of days type apocalypse especially a viral outbreak but this was just as my heading suggests.
