      Updated review

Well since the last time I wrote a review about Motion Picture Industry's RX policies, I would have hoped they would do something to change their ways, but I am sad to report that not only do they not listen to their members , they simply DO NOT CARE.  Once again they flat out REFUSE to cover a prescription unless I get it from either Express Scripts or Walgreens and I MUST get a 3 month supply. WTF? When I did use Express Scripts, and I have only used them twice , BOTH times  they have messed up.  1st time they sent me the wrong RX, and it was a medication that I am allergic too and would have ended up in hospital if I had not read the label before taking it, and it was a 3 mo supply.  They REFUSED to take it back and told me I had to pay for it anyway, so I was out $158 (give or take). The 2nd time, they sent me 6 months of medication which they are NOT supposed to do. Again they refused to take it back and I was out a good chunk of money that time too.  I recently was prescribed a medication by my doctor for a condition that other medications dont seem to work.  It is really a trial to see if i respond well to it, and it takes about 3 months or so to really see the results. 1st month MPI covered me. 2nd Month they covered me again.  Unfortunately for me, MPI REFUSED to cover a 1 month prescription frm this point foward and wants me to either (1) order it from Express Scripts for a 3 mo supply ( I dont need a 3 month supply as this is the last month) , (2) Order it from Walgreens, again having to get a 3 month supply ( I DONT NEED 3 MONTHS WORTH OF THIS MEDICATION!!) or (3 ) get the 1 month supply from my normal pharmacy and pay out of pocket $383.50.  I sincerely hope that whom ever is making these decisions, JUST TO SAVE A BUCK, gets ill  or a family member of theirs gets ill and needs medications that THEY DONT COVER.  Then maybe, just maybe, they will realize that a HUMAN LIFE is worth MORE than a f'ing dollar.  SHAME ON YOU!!! There is definitely a special place in hell for you.

      Updated review

I'm updating my review, and giving them an F grade.  They will cover pediatrician visits for in-network doctors at 100%. Unless you don't call the health center first (mind you, the health center doesn't take pediatric patients), in which case they cover it at 90%. It's an arbitrary rule designed to save them money, and I hope they get sued from here to oblivion for it.

Horrible experience dealing with MPI.  They made an error in our personal information, it has taken weeks, and they are so difficult, and rude.  They have a new website and, they entered the info incorrectly.   They could not fix it right away, so they blamed us, as and basically called us liars.  Then canceled our coverage.  We have tired multiple calls,  to try and fix their error, and get the insurance reinstated, and they do not care.  We even spoke to supervisors, and they did not try to help at all!! They are not for the participants.  They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.  I see why they have been rated so low.

Incompetent, rude starting with the receptionist at the desk giving false information every time you call.

So my husband had to be put on early  retirement at 52 yrs old from a bad accident at work. If it isn't an already upsetting situation these people at this office make it even more a nightmare.

We go in the office to get the paperwork started for retirement/pension process. They tell us everything we need to bring back with us ( I write this all down) now we have to wait for this retirement packet to come in the mail.... We find out while we are here he can't get paperwork started till he has a divorce decree from first marriage. So we panic because no one ever told us that ! So my husband doesn't have it. We find out from LA county it takes over 6/ weeks to obtain a copy do to it being on microfilm. We panic once again I called all over to try to get sooner called We The People who" paid them $200.00 to get it in two weeks or less.
So we wait wait wait wait & still wait like 4/weeks goes by  and no packet. I mean come on this friggin packet they must have already printed it's not like he's the first retiree.

So my husband gets upset and goes down to the office and guess what it's sitting on some incompetent workers desk with a mailing label on it.
Like not one person couldn't drop it in the mail on there way to smoking a cigarette/coffee break/ or gabbing and laughing in the main reception area ( because that's all we see every time we go here)

So he comes home with packet nothing special he had already decided what he was going to do with his pension the first time we filed for it.
So now you have to make an appointment to go back to the office and fill out the pension/retirement paperwork. So now another 4 weeks goes by.
We go there everything in hand we need and more... The lady says great we have everything we need she makes copies tells us you will be getting the IA money deposited first week of Dec and than a week later pension will be deposited. Great we ask again anything else you need??? No she's says and rechecks... So great that was easy 1/2 hour out of there.

Now here's where more of the nightmare begins three weeks after being in the office we get a letter in the mail the pension is going to be delayed till January because they need his birth certificate OMGAWD we asked her that while we were sitting in her office filling out the paperwork she said no we wouldn't need that!!!!
Panic sets in once again of course we get letter on Saturday so we have to wait to call office on Monday ( but I did write to lady who filled out paperwork because I grabbed her card she never responded back to us).

So Monday he calls and some incompetent nasty receptionist cuts my husband off while he's explaining by saying SIR SIR SIR there's no way you weren't told you need your birth certificate we always need that so him being frustrated gets off phone.

Of course he doesn't have one ( long story adopted etc)
So I get on phone freaking out calling & online LA city trying to find out how to get it asap. There is no way it takes 6/ weeks or more again to get a copy so I fill out paperwork online ( we couldn't find a way to get sooner) I stick it in the mail after going and getting it notarize that plus the cost to get birth certificate was over $50.00 bucks.

The next day I call Norwalk city clerks office and a lady says to me why don't you just go down to Van Nuys court you can get a birth certificate in one day!!! OMGAWD.... So next day we go wait in a 2 1/2 hour line get up to window but of course that wasn't true because he was born in 1962 it's on microfilm and it will still take 4-6 weeks so we pay another $28.00 just to cover our basis we may get one before the other.
We get out of that nightmare of a court. Starving after not eating and waiting in a 21/2 hour line.

HERES THE TOPPER!!!! We get home that day after waiting in line at the courts and a message is on the machine from Motion Picture saying it was a mistake he doesn't need his birth certificate because of the retirement package he choose!!!!
And than the girl says were are back on track your IA/pension we be as planned for Dec 1st
      OMGAWD NOWAY!!!!!

Now we call Dec 3rd and more wrong incompetent information was given to us.  His IA/pension won't be deposited till Jan 1st and most likely won't count on it than because everyone is on vacation for the new year!

This process has been a nightmare you would think after a guy has given his life for the studio working 25 years. His body not it best shape from loosing 3/fingers to a cement mixer accident, (14 +surgeries for this) double hernia, torn ACL, pin in his knee and now two surgeries on his thumb/wrist from it being bent backwards.
That these people could be a little nicer, make the process a bit less uncomplicated and the waiting a little less stressful. I mean come on hasn't motion picture been in est for over 75+ years or more. This has been honestly a nightmare!!

Went from 4.5 stars to 1 star as soon as UCLA became involved. Has made our life hell in so many ways. Would give a minus rating if there was one.

Since linking with UCLA they are nearly useless. I have a difficult ongoing problem that they seem unable to clearly diagnose, and as a result they are not treating! I've started seeing a PRIVATE Dr. that I PAY for out of my own pocket.

I was enrolled in healthcare plan as of a month ago and they still haven't sent me even one letter or acknowledgement.  On the phone they told me "just use your SSN" but at their clinic in Toluca Lake they want to see a card, not your SSN.  Online they want your member number or your activation code, they have given me neither even though I have called them ten times in two months.  Waiting..................waiting...............waiting..................
