Liam D It's a movie that knows it's sadistic but not going to over the top with it Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/11/22 Full Review Audience Member Horrible movie. Rebecca Demornay looks amazing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Rebecca De Mornay rocks, in this twisted performance of a wannabe murderous matriarch. The movie around her is fairly average though, and in no way resembles the original. It feels like a fairly safe way to take the material, even though there's some entertainingly grisly moments throughout. I'd still say stick to the original... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/05/21 Full Review Audience Member Just a long series of psycho sadism wrapped in a doting family of dumb sociopathic criminals terrorizing middle class partiers. The gag might have worked if they went for less screaming and more of their motivations. This group of "brothers" are portrayed as so stupid that believing they survived in a life of crime at all is beyond credible. Rebeca DeMorney does everything she can to try to bring some subtlety to this thing but it's not enough. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Jeffrey P There are horror movies for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day, and Valentine's Day, why not Mother's Day? Nothing like watching a buncha obnoxious 40-something adults acting like 16-year-olds get brutalized on Mother's Day. Solid build and good pacing in the first half but lacking significant development in the second half, other than the killings, makes for a final product that feels 30 minutes too long. The motives for everything were somewhat disappointing and could have been more diabolical. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a fucked up film Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine A home-invasion film like Mother's Day is elongated coitus interruptus. Rated: 0/4 May 4, 2012 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Stuffed with secrets and characters who can't wait to betray one another, the film offers no one to root for except Mother, whose perverted family values at least remain consistent. Rated: 2/5 May 3, 2012 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times The ready crackle of [De Mornay's] studiously demonic performance brings welcome distraction from this otherwise crude litany of torture and wretched death. Rated: 2/5 May 3, 2012 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh The gruesome special effects are truly upsetting, while De Mornay elevated what could have been an otherwise entirely forgettable experience. Rated: 3/5 Sep 24, 2023 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight Rebecca De Mornay keeps this conventional horror remake alive and kicking with her fierce and terrifying performance. Rated: 3/4 Dec 16, 2020 Full Review Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus I can only really recommend Mother's Day to major horror/thriller fans or anyone who loves the idea of seeing De Mornay knock a comeback role out of the park.
