I would recommend Modern Love to all food lovers, do not miss out on this place if you are not vegan. My wife and I are not vegan but like to try new and different foods. We saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and liked what we saw. The restaurant was busy the entire time we were there a Saturday evening, with both eat in and carry out. The reservation certainly helped and seemed appreciated by the host. The menu was unique and fun. We tried the best Ruben and the mushroom chick’n. Both were delicious and very filling. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a new experience in a cool local spot in midtown.

By far my favorite vegan restaurant ever! And I used to live in Scottsdale where there were tons of vegan option restaurants. This one is just so good versing with flavor. Great value in Great Ambiance Great everything could not recommend enough.

If you wanted it, they were out of it. They didn’t have mozzarella balls, no lemonade, out of several entrees, and only had cookies and a few ice cream choices. I felt bad for the server that had to give the bad news every time we tried to order something. They always have good food but I don’t feel confident going there since I can’t count on them having what’s on their menu.

Let’s first mention the food! Modern Love’s food never disappoints! The food is Deee-licious! Second, the service is awesome!!! Shout out to the Servers! I appreciate the smiles and the friendly banter. I really enjoy that the servers remember us. Thank you! You know who you are :). Modern Love is THE place to go for wonderful vegan dishes and appetizers.

Our first visit was on a weeknight for dinner. Was a bummer that they were out of 3 different entrees when we arrived for our 6:30 reservation. I found the place to be a bit dark for my liking but that’s only my opinion.

Honestly, I was so excited to visit Modern Love. I have several of Isa’s cookbooks and was looking forward to her kitchens execution. I’m an out of town visitor. 2 of the entree’s weren’t available (the 2 we wanted). The Brussels appetizer was overly greasy and my Rueben (my second choice) was somewhere between “meh and good.” I wouldn’t recommend it. Service was extremely attentive and we appreciated her efforts. So, front of the house great; back of the house execution was disappointing. While I’ll continue to cook Isa’s food, I doubt I’ll return to Modern Love. I do a much better job prepping her recipes.

Best vegan food I've ever had, definitely a top 5 restaurant in Omaha. The fried mozzarella appetizer and the milkshakes are amazing.

I love this place- but they were out of all but one dessert, did not have bloody marys (at brunch) and a few other items. This was the first time I’ve been that I wasn’t totally thrilled.

The service was okay. The place its self is pretty but a little crowded. However what left a bad taste in our mouths was the food, literally. There were 4 of us, we had the poutine as an app for the table which was good. We were not provided cutlery until we asked a woman who was not our server after our full meals had come out. The kale Caesar had mushroom bacon that was very burnt. The eggplant parm was ok however the bread that came with it was so charred it felt like licking an ashtray by just bringing it to our mouths. The Alfredo was good but nothing to write home about. The establishment was out of many things on the already small menu. Additional even though we placed a reservation we had to wait about 15min before being able to be seats still. We will not return which is unfortunate because we really wanted to like it here.

We LOVE Modern Love! This was probably our least favorite experience. It was very busy, so glad we had a reservation as we were seated promptly. Our server was super busy with multiple new tables at once. We ordered nachos - delicious! Our main dishes (Alfredo and Goddess Bowl) came out less than impressive. The Goddess Bowl is not worthy of Molo. The tofu had a sour aspect, the kale chewy, the tahini blah. There was zero color as it was missing the pickled cabbage. It was a bit of brown rice and a few Brussels sprouts. I usually love bowls, but this needs improving. I’ll never order it again. My husband’s Alfredo was cold. The extra crispy tofu he ordered was luke warm and tasteless - just super greasy. He won’t be ordering that again either. We let our server know and they offered to remake. I think the Alfredo came back microwaved haha. The Alfredo no longer had a white and creamy appearance, but a translucent color. It was at least hot. I ordered cauli buffalo wings. Usually love this place and will still recommend. Maybe it was just a miss due to a busy night! Still love the nachos. Really miss my other go to - buffalo mac-n-shews! Bring it back to the menu!! We also felt like we were sitting with our neighboring table. A bit cramped for two tops.

I was really excited to try out some vegan fare, but Modern Love fell short of my expectations. We had reservations, which we were a bit late to, but we called to let the restaurant know. We were seated right away, in a half booth half table configuration between two families. There were a lot of children there, which I wasn’t expecting for a Saturday night- but hey, kids have to eat too, I get it. It just wasn’t the best date night atmosphere. Our server was nice enough, but all the servers seemed frazzled and overwhelmed. Our table didn’t get sat with silverware, and it took a while to get it. I saw the server we asked go polish and roll our silverware settings, so I’m presuming they ran out due to a rush. There were two beers my husband wanted to try, and they were out of both. When he asked for a cola, he was told they were out of that too. They were also out of the entree I wanted to- the finger linking fried “chicken” with chickpea gravy. We settled on the cauliflower wings for an app, and two copy cat specials- The Big Moc and the Almost Famous Bowl. The food took a while, but was good. I enjoyed my Almost Famous Bowl, and it made up for a lot of the other experience. We asked the check be dropped off with the food bc everything was taking so long, and that ended up being a good call. Overall, I’m glad we tried this place, but I would be very hesitant to give it a second chance, unless maybe it was a weekday, or other non-peak time.

I’ve eaten here many times and had great experiences but was disappointed in this visit. Had the cauliflower buffalo wings and the mac-n-shews. Cauliflower was a bit undercooked—the texture just wasn’t quite right. And the mac bowl seemed smaller and just “meh” overall…can’t put my finger on exactly why. Less flavorful than before, maybe? Kale was a bit blah. Tofu was fine. Took someone there for their first time and I was bummed it didn’t live up to my hype.

This is OpenTable's fault: they allowed a reservation for Monday Jan 15 -- when the restaurant was closed!! I would recommend any diners call the restaurant directly, don't go through OpenTable!

The quality of food was not what we were used to. My husband’s chickpea cutlet was obviously burnt, and mine was over cooked. Also, we couldn’t order coffee, tea, and a cider. We had a first timer with us, and she was not impressed. We hope we have a better experience next time.

The good: The arancini off the NYE menu were great! The flavors melded beautifully, so I did not even miss the melted cheese I am used to seeing inside. The cauliflower wings were also wonderful - crunchy, spicy, and that ranch sauce they came with was a perfect accompaniment. The bad: Our server was subpar. The other disappointment was the tiramisu experience we had - what we got looked nothing like tiramisu, tasted nothing like it as well, and yet our server insisted this is what it was.

I’ve eaten in and from this restaurant many times. Lastnight 12/28 was interesting. Reservation was at 7 and all was good at first, when ordering food we were told kitchen was very slow/backed up. Apps finally arrived and were good although very late and food came out on cold side but arrived nonetheless. Server, Abby didn’t show back up to table after removing app plate. Had mac&shrews and added mushroom bacon (mistake) it was VERY salty and the eggplant parm came with portobello instead so f chosen tofu. Server arrived back to table long after we were done and at that point, almost 2 hours later, we wanted to leave. Dessert wasn’t offered and had planned to get prior to arrival. Sure hope whatever was wrong is fixed, as I normally LOVE all things Modern Love

Didn’t have the wine selection from menu and didn’t have items to make chicken bacon ranch sandwich. My friend ordered two different types of red wine only to be told you were out of both. My friend then ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. When it came out it was the “chicken,” onion, lettuce and a little ranch. We had to inform server, who didn’t know what was missing. Server went to kitchen and came back with bowl of pickles, onions and ranch dressing and said you were out of bacon. It was comped so that was appreciated but my friend didn’t get anything he wanted or wasn’t told there was no bacon or given the choice to change order.

This is our go-to vegan restaurant and come to expect/appreciate consistently good food. The service was excellent. Unfortunately the Brussels spouts and the Swiss burgers came out cold, mushy, and less flavorful than typical.
