Modern Family & Rush Hour Actress Elizabeth Pena Died From Alcohol Abuse

This is so very sad.
We reported earlier how Modern Family‘s Elizabeth Pena tragically passed away at the age of 55, and now’s it come out that she died from alcohol abuse.
According to her death certificate, Elizabeth had been suffering from cirrhosis of the liver “due to alcohol,” and after having the disease for several months, it became more acute recently.

The certificate also says that she had suffered acute gastrointestinal bleeding in the hours prior to her death, and that eventually her heart stopped because of it.
Our hearts continue to go out to her family and loved ones during this tough time.
