Here Are 5 Types of Facelifts and What They Can Do For You

There are various ways you can have cosmetic surgery on your face from lower facelifts, to full lifts and liquid solutions.

Age is just a number. It’s true that many people feel this way. For others though, the reflection they see in the mirror each morning looks a little bit older than they’d like.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a little pick-me-up around the edges. If you can afford the time and money needed to complete the splurge (and you feel you want one), you could be a candidate a facelift.

What are your choices? There are plenty of options out there to help you look and feel younger.

Here are five popular procedures and what they can do for you:

1) Mini Lift/Lower Facelift

Do you feel like you have too much skin under your chin? This procedure could be what you want.  It targets the bottom third of your face, and is one of the quicker and less invasive lifts you can have done.

A mini lift is often performed under local anesthesia, so you don’t have to worry about being put under completely. It removes less skin than a full facelift. Because of this, it can be good for targeting the specific areas you want done, but nothing more.

2) Cheek Lift/ Midface Lift

Moving up the head, a cheek lift gets at the middle section of your face. It targets the unwanted aging that could be happening around your cheekbones. A surgeon may make incisions around your temples to complete the procedure, and on the inside of the upper lip.

There are many types of facelifts including a cheek lift, a mini lift and a liquid face lift.

3) Full Face Lift

If your doctor recommends having work done on your entire face, it means that you’ll be tightening things up in many areas. A full facelift combines strategies from a lower facelift, a mid lift and what’s known as a brow lift, (lifting around the eyebrows), to give you all round results. Incisions are usually made around your ears, as well as in other places.

4) Liquid Facelift

If you’re on the road to a younger-looking visage but you don’t wish to go under the knife in a big way to get it, having a liquid facelift could be your ticket.

This procedure doesn’t involve any large cutting. It uses injectable fillers, which can make your face look fuller and younger, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

The good thing about a liquid facelift is that it’s a relatively easy way to get a younger, more energized- looking face, and it lasts between 1 and 2 years. It’s not as permanent as a surgical facelift, but it gives you lasting results.

5) Thread Lift

A thread lift is a minimally invasive surgery, (they cut you but only a little), and it’s done under local anesthetic. You also won’t be going under completely, for this one.

It only takes a couple of hours to complete and involves small incisions made behind your ears to lift the skin of your jowls and upper neck. A quick ‘pick-me-up’, doctors say you could be back to your regular life in as little as two weeks.
