My partner and I stumbled upon this lovely place while on a night out. Fantastic plaza, beautiful fountain. Surrounded by shops bars and restaurants. Gorgeous.

This was a love on first site for me. Plaza de Gabriel Miro is nicest squire in town with this very old Ficus trees looks very romantic and really special. Shame that when we visite it was not park because they put a caffe at all the place. Nice place to sit and drink something but it make impossible to just sit on bench and enjoy for free in park. For me it is not good to ruined park this way but cant say it is not a wonderful and different kind of caffe.

I do recommend walking through this plaza however I would not recommend lingering. The fountain was not in working order when we were there in December which may of course have to do with the lower than typical temperatures however the condition of the plaza and the look of the people who were lingering Or maybe loitering, was just a bit too sketchy for my taste and I’m from New York City.

The Plaza de Gabriel Miro is truly beautiful!
The Plaza, surrounded by gorgeous, large trees is a wonderful place to relax, dream or enjoy a cocktail or a cup of coffee or dine at one of the surrounding restaurants!
Definitely a site to enjoy!!

This small pretty square is worth seeking out - just up from the seafront and along from Calle Mayor - a tranquil spot to rest a while and appreciate the banyan trees and fountain. A memorial statue to the Alicante born modernist writer Gabriel Miro who died in 1930 is in an alcove, along with an information panel (Spanish only) giving details of his life. Plenty of cafes and restaurants all around and it’s just a really pleasant spot. The only negative when I visited were the “town drinkers” occupying one of the benches.

The day of our visit to Alicante was very hot. We had been in the process of taking a very long walk through the central part of the city. Whenever, we could find a pleasant, cool spot to take a break and a rest, we would do so.
The Plaza de Gabriel Miro was one such location. It has a very nice large, circular fountain and a number of big, shady trees with park benches situated under them.
Visitors in need of a meal or a cool drink are well catered for with several outdoor eateries located in the vicinity.
We certainly enjoyed taking a break here and would have liked to have spent more time in the plaza had we not been on a tight time schedule.

Beautiful quite plaza. Ideal spot for relaxing sit down, or for kids to have a little run around, nice and cool as it is shaded during the heat of the day. We enjoyed a picnic sitting on one of its many benches, have already been twice on this trip, and will probably again. Nice change from the busyness of the beach front.

Things can get a little chaotic in downtown Alicante but here you can draw breath and relax.
It is a beautiful square where you can just chill out in the shade or enjoy a cold beer at one of the restaurants. It is an oasis of calm and very beautiful indeed. The atmosphere is fantastic with lots of locals and old men chatting away on benches.

Beautiful square, with impressive old ficus tree and a nice sculpture in the center. There is a quite special atmosphere and it is a great place for relaxation.
