As a student worker, I was overworked and often bossed around by senior IT staff. Senior staff sat around and assigned most work to us. You get all the work that no one wants to do. It was not a great experience and I always felt belittled.

They have a very hierarchical structure rather than distributing power. Also, the structures that should be supportive for staff (i.e., legal, human resources, and financial management divisions) are not helpful - often interfering so that professional staff are not able to quickly do their work.
