Jose Miguel Cabrera was a Major League Baseball player with the Florida Marlins (2003-2007) and Detroit Tigers (2008-2023). Did you know that Miggy (his nickname), during his Major League debut on June 20, 2003, hit a walk-off home run in the eleventh inning of his first big league game? Miggy was only the third player (Billy Parker, September 9, 1971 & Josh Bard, August 23, 2002) since 1901 to hit a game winning homer in a big league debut from either league.

Did you know that Miguel Cabrera was the ninth player in baseball history to win three consecutive batting titles? Did you know the previous eight are all in the Hall of Fame? Miggy joined four former American League batting champions: Wade Boggs, Rod Carew, Ty Cobb and Nap Lajoie; and four former National League batting champions: Honus Wagner, Rogers Hornsby, Stan Musial and Tony Gwynn.
Miguel Cabrera was the first player since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 to win the Triple Crown. Cabrera led the American League in 2012 with a .330 batting average, 44 home runs, and 139 runs batted in. The following season Miggy didn't win a second Triple Crown, but he did hit 44 home runs (2nd place), 137 runs batted in (2nd place), and a career best .348 average (1st place).
Justin Verlander said (Stark, Jayson. ESPN Staff Writer. Miguel Cabrera be best hitter ever?. 7 April 2013.), "If he (Miguel Cabrera) stays healthy, I don't see any reason why he can't be the best hitter of all time." Is that possible? Prior to 2014, Miggy had ten full seasons under his belt and is already a two-time home run champion (2008, 2012), a two-time RBI champion (2010, 2012), a three-time batting champion (20112013) and a five-time Silver Slugger Award winner (20052006, 2010, 20122013). He has won two Most Valuable Player Awards and received MVP votes every single year he has played in the bigs. Nine of his ten full seasons he hit at least thirty-home runs and drove in over a hundred runs hit .320 or better in seven of those nine seasons.
