Large theatre. Great seating and clean. Very nice surprise for me. Friendly environment.

Movies at Midway is a really nice movie theater. Although it's independent, they have done a nice job competing with chain theaters. They always have the newest movies, and the theaters are spacious. Since it is independent, you're not being price gouged; for instance, all candy is $1. Restrooms are clean and theaters are clean. The seatbacks recline, although they're not the giant recliners you find in some other theaters. Also, you can buy your tickets ahead of time at the box office, so if you want to see a popular show you don't have to pay the fee to buy them online (although you can purchase tickets online for this theater too). When our film started the theater felt a little stuffy, but I was soon able to feel air moving, and the temperature remained comfortable for the duration of the movie. If you're looking to see a movie at the beach, this is the theater to go to!

Today was maybe my 4th visit. I didn't want to review too soon. I daw Just Mercy in #10. The smell in there was horrendous and there was popcorn and other trash in various places. This place is not that busy where they can't clean up between shows! Yes, the price is reasonable for admission and candy and the popcorn is previosly bagged. Upon my 1st visit I was told they didn't serve fresh popcorn because customers may get burned. WTH? The ticket taker is usually rude and there's definitely no diversity with staff.

In The Cube, their most expensive and premium experience offered, they built the isle up the middle of the theater. Who does that? Charges premium price then designs the best seats out of the theater? I mean
... who puts the isle in the middle of the theater? - Michael P.North Bergen, NJ1243Jul 12, 2019
This is not your typical AMC theater so let's get that out the way, they do not have an option to buy tickets online or reserve seats. You have to come to the theater to buy your tickets which is not totally bad but I can see how people might not like that. When you go in concession stand to buy food and drinks make sure you have cash, as they do not accept cards they will direct you to an atm if you need to take out cash. I got a cube seating to see what it is, the room is big, the seats are leather and do recline back. Most importantly, the staff, they were really friendly and helpful no complaints there. Overall was not a bad experience just different from what I normally go to give it a shot

Last night we watched Thor Ragnarok here and loved it! The theatre is clean and the facilities are pretty up to date. The theatre is pretty nice. The prices are pretty average with discounts for senior citizens and students. This isn't even the best part- When you go into the concession stand, ALL the candy is $1!! This is amazing and completely unheard of! The only catch is - they only accept cash. They do have an ATM available if you need it. Honestly you cannot beat $1 for all the chocolates, nuts and candy! Loved the people, this town and the movies!

Ticket prices are on par with everyone else. Snack prices are decent, drinks come with refills - though the snack stand is cash only.
However, the one star rating comes from the fact that the last movie we saw here - someone guy behind us was talking the entire film. At one point I looked over and saw who was talking and that staff members were just kinda hanging out by him (and watching him talk) during the film.
As far as I'm concerned - that's a full stop. I don't pay good money to see a movie just to have someone add their commentary through most of it while theater staff stand around and watch. The guy should've been asked to quiet down or leave - not just watched by theater staff motioning to each other about what a jerk he is. - 1586192961Sep 23, 2016
Friendly people, a decent slope to the theaters, comfortable seating. Prices lower than the Big Cities-- but not much.

Bought tickets on MovieTickets.com for 4pm showing of Captain America. Was billed immediately. Arrived at the theater and was told by ticket seller that MovieTickets.com was having "processing issues" and he couldn't give me the tickets (even after I showed him confirmation email) and I had to buy tickets again. Needless to say I wasn't happy about this. I had to call MovieTickets.com later that day and they told me it wasn't their issue. Called the theater and left a message. The next day the manager (Ashley?) called me promptly and worked with me to get the refund. So there's that.
As for the theater, I've been going there on yearly beach trips for 15 years and it's definitely showing its age. Parking's still an issue. They created a nice, but mostly useless waiting area with couches and flat screens in the lobby. With no other competition I suppose they don't have to up their game. The popcorn was substandard. The screens and theater itself were fine. The volume (too low for an action movie) and sound quality (no surround!) were just waaay below standards for modern theaters. They might need to modernize if they want to keep pulling in the rainy day crowd. With Netflix, etc. it's just as easy to stay in your hotel.
Props for $1 candy, which is a great touch. Minus points for the ATM ($2.50 surcharge) for concessions. They're practically daring you to bring in your own food in.
Come on Midway. I know you're independently owned and the only show in town (for the moment). But please make some updates. - Colleen N.Edgewater, MD1102603Aug 15, 2016
Pretty standard movie theater.
I do have to say that for a matinee price, $9 per ticket is kind of steep. I am not a huge fan of the tight parking lot- tons of traffic jams and people backing into each other.
Snack bar is cash only and I didn't feel like using an ATM- so we didn't test this out. Staff was nice enough. I think I'd rather support the Clayton Theater in Dagsboro to be honest.
