How to Find a Halfway Point on Google Maps

Find Halfway Point on Google Maps Between Two Locations

Ever had trouble finding a neutral spot that’s perfect for everyone to reach? Whether you’re planning a hangout with friends, a business meeting, or a family get-together, finding a halfway point on Google Maps can be tricky. Google Maps doesn’t have a built-in feature for this, but this guide will show you how to find the ideal halfway point for your next gathering.

Find Midpoint on Google Maps Using Coordinates

Every location on Google Maps is associated with specific coordinates, a combination of latitude and longitude. You can use the location coordinates of two end locations to find the halfway point between them.

On Google Maps Mobile App

Open the Google Maps app on your mobile phone. Search for the first location, and long-tap on the location pin. You’ll see the location coordinates in the search bar of Google Maps. Copy the coordinates and paste them for your reference.

Copy Location 1 Coordinates for future reference

Repeat the same step for the second location, and note down the location coordinates of both end locations.

Find the coordinates of location 2.

Now, find the halfway point for both end locations using this method.

  • Halfway Point’s Latitude = (First Location’s Latitude + Second Location’s Latitude) / 2
  • Halfway Point’s Longitude = (First Location’s Longitude + Second Location’s Longitude) / 2

According to our example, these are the midpoint’s coordinates.

  • (23.080359 + 23.071975) / 2 = 23.076215
  • (72.495639 + 72.616773) / 2 = 72.556206

So, the coordinates of the midpoint are 23.076215, 72.556206.

Copy the coordinates and paste them into the Google Map’s search bar. You will see the halfway point on Google Maps between the given locations.

Enter Midpoint Coordinates on Google Maps to find the exact location.

You can add it as a stop on your navigation route to reach the midpoint easily.
