As a traveler and someone with a deep appreciation for the beauty of Lebanon, it pains me to recount the abysmal experience I've had with Middle East Airlines (MEA). Back in October,because what is happening in the Middle East, I cancelled my reservation with MEA. Understanding the circumstances, they provided me with credit valid until August 2024. Little did I know, this would be the beginning of a frustrating saga of unresponsiveness and apathy from MEA. For the past two months, I've tirelessly attempted to reach out to them regarding the credit they issued. Despite numerous emails sent, not a single response was received. Desperate for assistance, I even resorted to contacting them through WhatsApp, only to be met with a dismissive reply instructing me to email them, which I had already done multiple times. What's more disheartening is the complete lack of empathy and professionalism exhibited by MEA staff. From the grumpy faces at the airport to the indifferent attitude towards customer queries, it's evident that customer satisfaction is not a priority for MEA. As an Egyptian who holds Lebanon in high regard and has longed to visit, this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. MEA's incompetence and disregard for customer concerns are not only discouraging but also damaging to Lebanon's tourism industry, especially during these challenging times.
