Michelle Dockery is married! The Downton Abbey star tied the knot with Jasper Waller-Bridge (brother of Phoebe) in London this past weekend, with a plethora of stars in attendance—including many of her Downton costars.
For her wedding at St Nicholas church in Chiswick, Dockery wore an Emilia Wickstead "Josephine" gown and carried the "Luna" bag by Aspinal of London. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham.
Dockery and Waller-Bridge, a talent agent and producer, met in 2019 through mutual friends, and got engaged last year. They shared their engagement in the Times with an old-fashioned announcement, which read "The engagement is announced between Jasper, son of Michael Waller-Bridge of King's Lynn, Norfolk, and Teresa Waller-Bridge of Battersea, London, and Michelle Dockery, younger daughter of Michael and Lorraine Dockery of Gidea Park, Essex."
Phoebe Waller-Bridge was in attendance at her brother's wedding, wearing a bright pink Etro suit, with her longtime partner Martin McDonagh. Notably, she wore a diamond ring on her left hand ring finger, sparking engagement rumors. Also in attendance were Lesley Manville, and many of Dockery's Downton costars, including Jim Carter, Imelda Staunton, Lily James, Lesley Nicol, Joanne Froggatt, Hugh Bonneville, Allen Leech, and Laura Carmichael, along with Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and his wife, Emma Joy Kitchener. Ahead of the ceremony, guests had a pre-wedding drink at the nearby George and Devonshire pub.
Dockery was previously engaged to John Dineen, who died at age 34 in 2015 of cancer. "We were engaged, and married at heart, and so I do consider myself a widow," she told the Guardian in 2017. "I know people who’ve had losses and they took time out immediately, but I don't think I'd have been able to do that. My decision was to keep going. And that’s what we all did."
