Mickey Richard Green Seattle-area resident for over eighty years, Michael Green, passed away at home of natural causes on October 6th, 2020. He was 86 years old.
Born in 1934, Michael was educated in the public schools and on the streets of Seattle where he sold newspapers on the corner of 45th and University Way during World War II.
At Garfield High School ('53) and at the University of Washington ('59), Michael was a star athlete. During his second year of college, however, he grew restless. A chance encounter with a Marine
recruiting officer that year led to a three-year stint in the Marines at the end of the Korean War, during which Michael was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After proudly serving his country, Michael completed college and law school at the U.W. with the help of the GI Bill.
Upon re-entering civilian life, a second life-altering event would be a blind date with another student, Neva Fuller, also of Seattle, and "the smartest person I ever knew". Michael and Neva's marriage would last 44 years, until her death in 2004.
As an attorney Michael worked for one firm his entire career, Davis Wright Tremaine, starting in the Seattle office and relocating Bellevue during the 1990s.
Besides Neva and the Marine Corps, Michael credits a fateful move to Mercer Island as the third-best decision of his life. Michael happily resided in the Dawn Villa neighborhood from 1971 until his last day.
Michael is survived by three children and six grandchildren.

I credit my 33 years at Davis Wright to Mike, who was friends with my previous employer. He was a great man and easily offered legal advice for personal matters. His kindness and wit will be missed!
