About Michale Graves

Michale Graves is an internationally recognized artist who has been creating music and telling stories for over two decades. Before his 20th birthday, he was recruited to be the lead singer and primary songwriter of the legendary punk band, the Misfits. Graves faced an uphill battle of immense criticism while trying to fill the shoes of original Misfits vocalist, Glenn Danzig, but he injected the group with freshness, youth and energy which rewrote the history of the band in a way that even his sharpest critics found undeniable, reaching a whole new generation of music fans in the process.

Michale attributes his vocal capabilities to his time studying under Don Lawrence in New York City, who taught him to set himself apart with a powerful, rich, developed tenner that far surpassed the audience’s expectations.

Michale Graves kicked in the door of the music scene in 1995, wearing his trademark skull face paint, with a new take on the music he helped transform a punk band with a mythical reputation into a modern standout, performing nightly in front of packed areas and festivals. The videos for his songs “Dig Up Her Bones” and “Scream” directed by master of horror George A. Romero have been viewed over 30 million times. Michale appeared in Romero’s film Bruiser performing “Fiend Without a Face” which was also written by Graves specifically for the film.

During professional wrestling’s hottest period Graves along with his bandmates were seen every week by millions of viewers around the world as a regular attraction on WCW’s “Monday Nitro.”

After recording two albums with the Misfits, “American Psycho” with Geffen Records and “Famous Monsters” with Roadrunner Records, as well as touring the world to meet millions of fans, Graves quit the band to blaze his own path. Michale steadily built a reputation as the working-man’s punk rocker. He reintroduced himself to the scene with non-stop touring around the country before taking his new act worldwide.

By the mid-2000s Michale Graves could have rested on his laurels and looked back at a career full of self-made achievements, but he wanted something more. His passion motivated him to reach out, create a dialogue, and build platforms to start a conversation about culture, spirituality, and justice.

Michale started a website called ConservativePunk.com to educate his fans on the rights of the individual, totally breaking with the status quo of what was expected of contemporary artists who come from the world of coulter-culture entertainment. Graves also spoke out on behalf of the police and military, after having a brief stint in the US Marines himself.

This work got Graves mainstream attention once again, this time appearing opposite Ed Helms on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”

Graves became a vocal advocate for the West Memphis 3, and partnering with SOS Records in 2007 he released “Illusions featuring five songs he wrote along with Damien Echols who, at the time, was being held in solitary confinement on Arkansas death row.

A national acoustic tour soon followed to rave reviews. Michale stripped off the facepaint and solidified his unique ability to command an audience by showcasing a minimalist unplugged set using only his voice, a guitar, stories and songs. Damien Echols has since been released from prison.

Michale continued to appear in feature films, such as Perkins 14 directed by Craig Singer portraying the character of Eric Ross as part of Horrorfest’s 8 Films To Die For.

Graves then went right back to work, writing new songs and shooting a video, inspired by his filming experience on location in Romania including a collaboration with one of the film’s stars Patrick O’Kane. Those songs, along with live tracks from the acoustic Illusions tour, were released in October 2008

Graves and Singer would later collaborate again with The 45 King and create a music video for a reinterpretation of the song “No Rain” by Blind Melon. The project was produced by David Lotwin and Tony Coluccio,

After returning from Romania, Michale teamed up with Marky Ramone of the groundbreaking band The Ramones for a project called Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg. They toured the world in a traveling masterclass of punk rock history, playing all the classic songs that earned The Ramones their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The lineup also landed them a spot at the famed “Rock In Rio” festival.

Michale penned two singles for the project, “When We Were Angels” and “If and When.” An animated video was produced for “Angels” with all proceeds going to The Wounded Warrior Fund.

“The Course Of Empire Tour” and “The Beginning Of The End Tour” continued to fuel his machine-like reputation to his fans on a worldwide stage. These tours supported the 12 albums that were created since the end of his work with Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg.

In 2012, Michale began to compose music expressing his deep faith in God. Over 20 album releases have been recorded since that time, building an impressive catalogue of sound and sights. Michale filmed and edited short films and videos for the songs “Zombie,” and “I Can Feel Heaven”

Michale became the Senior Producer and Program Manager with Arkansas’s first 24/7 internet television station AR1.TV, where he also hosted “The Michale Graves Show” which blended pop culture, political discussion, and music into one platform.

Since 2016, Michale Graves has toured and recorded relentlessly with his band in support of projects like albums “When Worlds Collide” and “The World Turned Upside Down.” He also continues touring as a solo acoustic act in support of the albums “Bedlam” (2016) and “Backroads” (2017).

2018 marked his solo return to Europe with his highly acclaimed “Beginning of the End Tour.” Before the year was out, Graves performed in 23 countries and played over 150 shows. Michale then created a short film entitled The Blackness and The Forest that told the story of his “Almost Home Campaign” and work he did for The West Memphis 3. A video created by Graves for his song “Butchershop” would be one in a long line of new visual packages he would go onto release.

Michale collaborated with Russian band Night of Samhain with two album releases and a music video that saw Graves sing the band’s Russian songs in English.

Following up these efforts, Michale kicked off “The American Monster Tour.”  It treated audiences to Michale’s work in The Misfits by performing the complete catalogue of “American Psycho” and “Famous Monsters” albums back to back.

In March of 2020 Graves abruptly cancelled his acoustic tour dubbed “The Long Road To You” because of the unprecedented worldwide pandemic.

Also in 2020, Michale Graves found himself at the center of controversy. In a highly charged political climate he became the target of radical left-wing groups for standing up against lies and bullying by the media-class. His candor got him “canceled,” resulting in him being removed from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube without explanation; effectively making him the most dangerous punk rocker of the modern era and most banned musician in the world today. However, Graves wouldn’t stay down.

Proving himself to be a fearless social leader unafraid to challenge people’s expectations, Graves went onto develop numerous broadcast and print properties worldwide. He became a unique attraction as a guest on radio, television, and podcasts.

He went on to resurrect his show called “Radio Deadly with Michale Graves,” which gave audiences new insights on his road-worn stories, soulful music, patriotic politics, and sense of humor in a longform setting. In March of 2021, Michale brought the “Radio Deadly” show to the Censored.TV platform, now producing weekly original content armed with a lifetime of stories and an attitude that refuses to lay down and die.
