Jimmy Butler's future might not be in Miami?
Jimmy Butler is extension-eligible, but between his declining play this season and the constant absences, there are increasingly loud whispers that his future might not be in Miami. The Heat openly talking about Bam Adebayo as the keeper of the #HeatCulture flame and not mentioning Butler as much is another notable point.
Brady Hawk: Talked to Haywood Highsmith today about his off-season focus on offense, after saying the floater was his focus this time last year: “Attacking a close-out, more ball handling and trying to be a play-maker.” “They go under the screen, stop behind, shoot the 3.” More: pic.twitter.com/KKCu36LguL
ClutchPoints: “To say we did not philosophically take the regular season seriously, that’s totally off base. I can see why people will point to that because of the missed games.” Erik Spoelstra on the claim that the Heat don’t take the regular season with importance 🗣️ (via @ZachWeinberger) pic.twitter.com/1YdUY77de4
Ethan J. Skolnick: I asked Erik Spoelstra about managing a star like Jimmy Butler as he ages, and what he can take from the Dwyane Wade experience. @5ReasonsSports pic.twitter.com/P51ZQlGhGC
Tim Reynolds: Ethan Skolnick asks: “Bam, what did you learn in your first year as captain?” Bam: “It sucks.” He laughed. Relax, people.
Brady Hawk: Duncan Robinson jokes when asked if he felt he was “20% of his usual self” in Boston series: “From what you saw, you thought it was 20%?” Then adds: “Certainly don’t have any regrets. Would’ve had more regrets if it was the other way if I didn’t play.” Says rest is the cure
