We stayed here over MEA with our 2 kids, age eight and five. Our room had 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa sleeper which was perfect for our family of four. You get wristbands for the water park when you check in to the room. The water park has a lazy river, hot tub, 2 slides, a toddler/kid area, a bucket that dumps water, a pool with balls and a basketball hoop, and a lily pad rope cross thing. There is also a snack bar in the water park that sells alcohol for the adults (and snow cones). We really loved exploring the mural that is on all the walls. My kids kept finding new things in the mural. On the other side of the hotel is the trampoline park, arcade, go karts and bumper cars. You need to pay extra to do those things and it can get spendy. There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves breakfast and dinner. There is also a pizza place in the hotel that will deliver pizza to the waterpark. There is also a Dairy Queen in the trampoline park! Honestly we didn't leave the hotel for 48 hours, there was so much to do. It can get noisy at night, but we always bring fans and white noise machines for sleeping. If you can request a room facing the back, not the interstate. It was quite bright with the lights from the interstate. Staff was very friendly and helpful and we saw them cleaning and sanitizing often.

For fun, this hotel/resort gets a 5. We had 8 grandkids ages 4-11 and they loved it. The adults did too. The water park was excellent with a number of slides that were fantastic for both adults and kids. Also an area for smaller kids, with slides, water guns, and tunnels. The hotel were pretty average. We had 2 suites that were spacious, clean and had what we needed. Some of the decorating of the rooms was a bit suggestive and not really appropriate for a family with kids. There was a colorful fake bong in one room and some artwork on the walls that was a bit on the tawdry side. Staff was very helpful and attentive. The Action City had a LOT of variety. For kids and adults of all ages. Many many choices for things to do. The only downside to Action City was the pricing. Pretty darn expensive and limiting how the various areas where priced and timing. It was frustrating, for example, to want to spend an hour in the jumpy section, but you had to do a 2 hour session, only. I would have preferred to buy as you go or load up a card and simply swipe and the money would run down per each activity. The outdoor go cart track was closed, and that was something many in our group wanted to do. The indoor go cart track was pretty good, but the outside one looked even better. If you are looking for family fun, this would be the right choice.

We spent one night at the Metropolis and the facility was very clean and the place has so much to do for families with children.

The rooms are very clean and updated and we had a massive shower that made it easy to showering off both kids after they went swimming.

The staff was extremely kind and helpful.

Unfortunately we went on a Wednesday night and the water park was only partially opened (I'm guessing from staffing issues) so we were unable to enjoy the water slides and lazy river.

Overall this place looks like it would be a fun stop for a few days to keep the kids busy.

I also recommend checking out the Mexican restaurant just outside of the facility, it was extremely cheap and the food was fantastic.

I booked a room for my family and told them at the time of making reservations I was going to use gift cards given at Christmas and cash for remaining. Wasn't until day of reservation that I was refused the use of cash for remaining after bank closed. Room costs too much, unfriendly staff. Not booking again.

Bed was far and away too firm, felt like a board. Pillows too. Broken lights and there were screws on the side of the whirlpool. As for the water park felt like a sauna and the water was too warm. Employees were very good workers.

Wanted to take kids to a water park, and I chose here over the dells. I’m not a huge pool person, but I’m happy if there is a lazy River or hot tub. Super disappointed with the lack of tubes, I was not able to secure one at all today! Only enough for about half of those who want one between the River and slide.... not cool for the price we paid. The hot tub was so heavy on chlorine my eyes burn- and, it’s hidden away in a corner- you cannot see the pool so i cannot watch my kids from there. Overall disappointed 😔. The arcade is fun however, and the rooms are decent.

It was taking months to fix an overcharge before I arrived that I was reaching out to the staff almost two times a week and at times no response. Before we arrived, I sent an email joking with the staff that they would be so annoyed with me that they would put me in the “bad room”.

We had two rooms. Both smelt horrible. My room had items left in the room from the prior guest and no soap. I called the front desk the lady said “I can move you” then laughed at me. (I wasn’t going to move with kids after that) later I found out she laughs when she is nervous???? I know these bad rooms were intentional. If it wasn’t, they would have checked the room after I sent the email to make sure it was ok.

I stuck it out and left, still waiting for my credit that was way overdue. I had emailed the GM of the hotel @samanthaHoltz and the GM of the resort @saraabbott many times in hopes to get this fixed. No response at all. The last conversation I told one person that they should just apologize, and he said, “well I am sorry you had an experience you didn’t like.”

It makes me sad because we had gone there many years and we were hoping this could be a tradition for many more years. It makes me even more sad that the leadership wouldn’t even want to hear what happened. I wonder if @volumeone would still consider @saraabbott innkeeper of the year.

For the price you can find better. The walls are paper thin allowing you to hear the neighbor kids. The lighting in the room is very dark and doesn’t allow you to see your stuff in your bags very well. Beds are shot or extremely cheap. The only plus side is the waterpark and “action city” for the kids but if you travel further you can find better.

We had a fantastic time here! Traveled with an 8 and 5 year old, they loved the waterpark. It was the perfect size. The water temperature is very warm! The room was clean, beds comfortable, had a mini fridge and microwave.

What really made this visit was the staff, the lifeguard/waterpark team was attentive,
kind, helpful, and set the mood for a safe family atmosphere. They went above and beyond to watch my children and include them in activities. It’s the first waterpark we’ve been to where I felt like I could relax and know my children were totally safe.

The word resort is pretty loosely used when in description on this establishment. We stayed over the holidays and found on check in that the water park and restaurants were closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day until 4. We were informed of this at check in despite being booked for months. The rooms were not in as nice condition as showed on line and the beds were made of some kind of weird foam on metal platforms that were easy to kick and when it happens it sounds like a gong. No housekeeping service during our stay either. We paid over $250 a night.

The Metropolis offers a hot breakfast in The Pub for an additional cost. A continental breakfast is included with your night stay which includes cereal, bagels, muffins, toast and more. Life jackets are available at the waterpark but are in limited supply and at a first come basis; I would suggest bringing your life jackets if you have them just in case.
