MERCER COUNTY, NJ -- Two of Mercer County's most distinguished sheriffs officers were recently promoted to the rank of sergeant by Sheriff Jack Kemler.
Newly promoted Sergeants Leigh Johnson and Marc Manfredi took their oaths of office before family, friends, and colleagues at the Mercer County Civil Courthouse in early September.
Kemler called Johnson and Manfredi two of the most highly trained and skilled law enforcement officers under his command
"I am very pleased each of their names rose to the top of the candidate's list, and I admire them for their dedication to our County," said Kemler. "Their promotions are well deserved and hard-earned."
A 2013 graduate of the Mercer County Police Academy, Johnson was most recently assigned to the Mercer County Cybercrimes Task Force and Crisis Negotiation Team. During her tenure with the Sheriff's Office, she has been part of many high-level assignments and served on teams that pursued and apprehended numerous dangerous individuals.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The College of New Jersey in criminal justice and a Master's Degree from Georgian Court University in Homeland Security.
Manfredi, who is a 2015 graduate of the Mercer County Police Academy, was most recently assigned to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office Courts Unit. In addition to providing security for the Judiciary, his chief role is to maintain a safe and secure courthouse environment with no major incidents under his watch.
Manfredi serves in the active reserves of the United States Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in cybersecurity from the University of Maryland University College.
