The worst Menards I've been to. Terrible staff, unknowledgeable, if you can find people. There was one person working in the Garden Center. Total attitude when asked where the mulch was. BTW. It's in the back a couple hundred yards away. Not like people are looking for this in the early summer. I had to rip open pallets myself because, well, they were unprepared.
Also unprepared to take my money or the parking lot full of customers shopping there on a late Saturday morning, because there were just 2 lanes open.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kate B.Monroe, MI1067681503Jul 4, 2015First to Review
Things must be pretty rough ton this side of town. I went to use the bathroom and was greeted with a giant sign letting me know that Ohio prosecutes shoplifters.
There was only one way to get to the registers. The other entrance has turnstiles to keep you from running out with a packet of nails and chewing gum (sold separately).
Me? I was killing time before the holiday and found some Herr's Horseradish and Cheddar Chips to add to the barbecue table. While waiting in line I watched the clerk run a counterfeit pen over $320 dollars worth of twenty dollar bills. The customer looked ticked off, but she waited, Then she did the same thing to me with my chips and popcorn purchase. The registers are weird. You stand on the same side of the counter as the clerk and she takes your money( checks it), gives you change and then makes you bag your stuff!
No warm and fuzzies here!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lorie B.Toledo, OH76Jan 16, 2019
I normally like menards. Today it was a different story. It was the 15% everything in a brown bag sale. I put all my items in the bag and went to checkout. I noticed the cashier overcharged me by 2.00 for paint rollers. She had to do a price check so i ran back and meet the girl who was doing the price check. She radioed back to charge me 2 bucks less..the correct price. When i got back to the register the cashier had canceled my sale and told me i had to wait in line again. There was only 2 lines open and there were long lines in each. She asked the cashier in the other open line if i could go through any line...he said yes. He looked like a manager. So, i get in his line. When i get up to him, I tell him the story of having to wait in line twice and being overcharged for the paint rollers and having my purchase canceled. I told him they did a price check and the correct price was 4.99. Instead of believing me, he did another price check holding up me and the whole line again. I checkout. I look at my receipt. He didn't give me my 15% off. I walked back inside the store and up to his register. At least he didn't tell me to go get in line again to get my refund. But he did hold up the whole line to re-ring up my whole order. I got over 7.00 back that i wouldn't have otherwise.

Was shopping for a new barbeque grill and saw one on their website that I wanted. Went over there to purchase the grill because we wanted to take it right then and not wait for delivery. Got to the grill department and were looking at the grills when one of their associates came up to us to see if we needed any help. We showed her the grill we were interested in. She then said she would go get a cart and load the grill on it for us. When she came back with the grill she noticed we were looking at some other things. She then told us she would wheel it to the front and put it off to the side and when we were done shopping it would be up there waiting for us. I'm just sorry I didn't catch her name. Had looked at grills at Meijer's, but couldn't get anyone to help. Menard's has the customer service so far!

My favorite store! Who doesn't love sales? The 11% rebate sales are terrific! One stop shop for home improvement, hardware, gidgets, gadgets, even grocery and pet stuff!

I was robbed by one of Menard's flooring installers that I hired. On his last day of the project he stole items out of my garage. He's now serving six months in jail for robbing someone else that hired him. To add insult to injury, Menards was notified of what happened and did not care at all, did not even offer me a discount on the items that were stolen of which Menards sells (shop vac and weed whacker). When I looked up this installers criminal record from Toledo Municipal Court website the guy had a rap sheet a mile long. Menards was asked why they do not check up on their installers and I was told that its the customers responsibility. Corporate did not care either. Terrible store. Go to Lowe's or HD instead. I contacted Lowe's to get their opinion and they stated I would have been treated much better if this happened with one of their installers.
