Mayra Flores was born in Burgos Tamaulipas, Mexico. Flores earned a bachelor's degree from South Texas College in 2019. Her career experience includes working as a respiratory care practitioner.

“	SECURING THE BORDER Illegal immigration encourages and funds human/child trafficking. I legally immigrated to America when I was six years old. Living in South Texas offers a unique perspective on illegal immigration and how it affects the livelihood of American citizens. We MUST secure our border to keep bad individuals out and to encourage LEGAL immigration. MORE JOBS, BETTER OPPORTUNITIES We must create opportunities for everyone to live the American Dream and find prosperity. Through smart, pro-growth policies, we can create an environment where small businesses can create jobs in South Texas. EDUCATION, NOT INDOCTRINATION Our children's education is the foundation on which they will build the rest of their lives. But today, too many kids are not getting the education they deserve. Radical gender ideology has infiltrated our children’s classrooms, and disturbing content can be found even in elementary schools. America needs to get back to the basics and focus on teaching our children the knowledge they need to be successful in life - not imposing far-left world views that poison our children’s minds. Parents should always have the right to know what their children are being taught at school. And parental voices should be heard as decisions about curriculum are made by school administrators and districts. Families should also have the freedom to choose the education that fits their children best. We can also do a much better job supporting our public school teachers. So many of them care deeply about our children but do not have the resources or support they need in the classroom to teach to their highest potential. That is unacceptable and needs to change. For too long, radicals on both sides of the aisle have attempted to put politics into the middle of running a business and that has to end. Job creators should feel empowered, not hindered by burdensome taxes and regulations. PROTECTING KIDS The United States remains the number one consumer of child pornography and child sex trafficking. The fact is, there are sick people out there and we have to protect kids from them. With the Vicente Gonzalez and Joe Biden "OPEN BORDER" policies in place, kids are being trafficked over the border by the cartels and being forced into sex trafficking. We must hold the cartels, Mexican government, and Americans who enable these actions accountable.​ I will continue to be a tireless advocate for securing the border, stopping the flow of sex trafficking, and protecting kids from dangerous situations. Enough is enough and it's time for all of us to stand up for what is right! ENERGY JOBS & INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE We have the energy right here in Texas and across the United States to lower home energy prices, gas prices, and secure our national interests. In Congress, I was proud to support legislation that empowered our energy producers and stopped the overburdensome regulations. ​ American energy is the backbone of a strong, resilient economy and, in Congress, I will continue to fight for every source of reliable energy. Oil and gas employs many Texans and the Left's assault on the energy industry affects each of them and their families. PROTECTING PARENTS CUSTODY OF KIDS We are seeing stories across the nation of kids being taken away from their parents because of radical gender ideology. A child should not be taken away from their parents, but people like Vicente Gonzalez remains silent on this issue. His silence puts him shoulder to shoulder with those who are tearing apart families to feed a far left extreme agenda. PROTECTING WOMEN'S SPORTS Close to fifty years ago Title IX went into effect across the country, enshrining fairness in sports and every aspect of American life. But now we are seeing that essential right being eroded by biological males competing in women's competitions. We need to stop this practice and protect women's rights to compete and accomplish incredible things. I fully support barring males from competing in women's sports and invading women's private spaces. CARING FOR OUR VETERANS Our American Veterans have put everything on the line to protect the America we love, now we owe it to them to ensure they have care and resources they need. From job training to lifelong quality healthcare, Veterans need a voice in Washington who will never back down. I am ready to fight for our Veterans to ensure they never struggle to get what they need from a government agency. In Congress, I was proud to vote in favor of the PACT Act to expand VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic chemicals. I also supported the NDAA to fully fund the military and the brave men and women who selflessly serve. Unfortunately my opponent Vicente Gonzalez voted against the 2023 NDAA, blocking funding for the military and standing against well-deserved pay raises for our troops. MAKING HEALTHCARE AFFORDABLE Healthcare is out of reach for many Americans because of rising premiums and out-of-control costs. As a medical professional myself, I see how the system takes advantage of those who need care the most. In Congress, I will continue working towards lower prices for care and prescriptions - because lives depend on it. Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Mayra Flores was born and raised with humble beginnings in Burgos Tamaulipas, Mexico. Her parents and grandparents raised her with strong conservative values and to always put God and family first. She came legally to the United States at six years old with the help of her father. Her father gave her family the biggest gift, the gift of becoming a proud, naturalized American Citizen.

Her parents were migrant workers, and like all migrant kids, she moved a lot growing up. She spent most of her life in the Rio Grande Valley and in 2004, she graduated high school in San Benito, TX. Growing up, Mayra worked alongside her parents in the cotton fields in Memphis, TX to earn extra money for school clothes and supplies. Instilling the value of hard work and the importance of education in her at a young age, Mayra remains a firm believer in the American Dream and will always fight so that others can achieve it as she has. She is eternally grateful to her parents for providing her with an opportunity to come to this amazing country to live the American Dream. Mayra graduated in 2014 as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with the support of her family.

She is a Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, and Pro-Law Enforcement candidate that wants to earn your vote. She is a proud U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) wife and a mother, fighting for a better future for the children of South Texas.

Texans know that when you get the government out of the way and let the private sector create jobs, the economy will flourish. I am an advocate against socialism and will always promote capitalism. Pro-Oil and Gas The oil and gas industry is critical to the success of our State and Nation. The industry has been hit hard in recent years but I will always work to help the oil and gas industry and stand firm against radical policies that would undermine it Pro-Affordable Healthcare As a healthcare worker I speak to residents of CD 34 day in and day out and understand that having access to affordable healthcare is the most important issue facing residents of South Texas.
