Maye Musk knows how to make an entrance.
The 71-year-old supermodel walked one of her first red carpets at Harper’s Bazaar’s “150 Most Fashionable Women” event in 2017 — after landing a groundbreaking contract with CoverGirl as the beauty brand’s oldest spokesmodel ever — clad in a stunning striped Emilia Wickstead gown, and cemented her celebrity status by showing up in a luxurious vehicle.
“I arrived in a Tesla X, and when the falcon doors opened, people gasped when they saw me stepping out,” Maye told Page Six Style. “Including some very big celebrities, like Kendall Jenner.”
Maye’s youngest son, Elon Musk, is the CEO and Product Architect of Tesla, Inc. A Tesla X car sells at a starting price of $81,000.
In our video series “Red Carpet Recall,” Maye also looked back at some of of her favorite fashion moments from her editorial shoots.
One of her picks included a campaign for Tiffany & Co., in which the model wore the brand’s signature blue color from head to toe.
“I did this Tiffany campaign with Naomi Campbell and Zoë Kravitz, and it was a fantastic production,” Maye said. “I had on my fabulous hat [with] all these beautiful insects that were in beautiful diamonds.”
The author also mentioned her look on the cover of her new book, “A Woman Makes a Plan,” in which she opens up about very personal stories, like her history of abuse with Elon’s father Errol Musk. Renowned photographer Mark Seliger took the cover snap.
“He had shot me for Vanity Fair when I was the oldest ‘It’ girl they ever had,” Musk said. “And we just loved his work, and don’t you love the photo?”
