Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri claimed Feyenoord fans threw urine at him and his staff during a fiery Europa League contest on Thursday night.
The Italian club needed only a point to be assured of passage to the knockout stages but they lost 1-0 thanks to a goal by Santiago Gimenez.
The result left Lazio third in Group F and demoted to the Europa Conference League after all four teams ended up on eight points.

A goal by Santiago Gimenez sent Feyenoord through and consigned Lazio to third position
Kick-off at De Kuip in Rotterdam was delayed a few minutes because flares and fireworks from the home fans - who notoriously create a hostile environment for visiting teams - left the pitch shrouded in smoke.
And Sarri said some supporters cross a line when it came to putting his team off.
'There were bags of p*** thrown from the stands down onto the back of the bench. It goes without saying, that is a little irritating,' Sarri said.
At one point during the match the referee did hand on object that had been thrown onto the field to the fourth official.

Former Chelsea boss Sarri was left infuriated with the officials as his side's Europa League ambitions went up in smoke.
'I won't even start on the referee. One player had at least seven or eight fouls from behind on our players, but in the end the only yellow cards were to my team,' he fumed.
'As for their goal, there were two fouls in it, not one. It started with a foul on Matteo Cancellieri near my bench, then Patric was clearly pushed from behind near the goalkeeper.

'We expected at the very least for the referee to view it again with VAR.'
Feyenoord ended up topping the group on head-to-head record ahead of Danish club Midtjylland.
In the end, the tie between Lazio and Midtjylland went against the Italians on goals scored after their 5-1 loss in Denmark in September.
