Hours before turning a year older, American actor Matthew Perry is trending on Twitter for all the wrong reasons as fans are concerned on seeing reports claiming that he had passed away in an accident.
Several celebrities have been targeted by hoaxes widely circulated on the internet due to their sensational headlines. Just last month, Youtube personality Shane Dawson was rumored to have passed away on his special day.
Claims on social media that Friends star Matthew is dead are a result of a big misunderstanding.
Matthew Perry isn’t dead
Fans are alarmed by false information about the FRIENDS star that has been making rounds on the internet. However, there is no reason for the actor’s followers to be worried as he is alive and well in 2022.
It appears like many have confused him with a man of the same name, who sadly passed away on August 17.
According to M Live, another person named Matthew Perry lost his life in a road accident.
“‘Matthew Perry, 49, of Bangor, was riding the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene,’ police said,” the outlet reports.

Actor is celebrating his birthday
Matthew will turn 53 on August 19, 2022.
The American rose to fame as Chandler Bing on the hit television series, FRIENDS. He was shown to romance Monica Geller, the character played by Courteney Cox.
The two continue to remain good friends to this day. The actress even gave her former co-star a shout-out on his 52nd birthday last year.
Courtney shared a throwback picture on her Instagram story and captioned it: “Happy Birthday to one of the funniest people ‘I KNOW'”
FRIENDS star met with an accident years ago
Matthew, the actor, has definitely not been involved in an accident now, but he suffered one nearly two decades ago.
According to ABC News, a woman in a car, who is said to have jumped the stop signal, rammed into the actor’s silver BMW.
Matthew’s car suffered damage at the time, but thankfully, neither of them was injured.
