Well, you can’t technically pay kids for sex. 17 is that like though where it’s like, welp tomorrow they could be 18. I was one of those girls, so I can speak to that. I most definitely knew what I was doing, but at the same time, of course I was being exploited as well (but that also occurred you know, well into my 20s.)
Complete aside though: it’s not shameful or embarrassing or bad to pay for sex with consenting adults and frankly, more people should (especially couples wanting threesomes, hire a sex worker ffs instead of preying on apps for bi-women!!) I’m a sex worker and I’m grateful in a way because I’ve been experiencing homelessness and it’s what helps me pay my cell and car, so I can maintain a base level of normalcy.
I'm sorry that society sucks so bad. Nobody should have to be homeless. No young person should be exploited like that.
I grew up in foster care and unfortunately, about half the homeless population is former foster kids. The fact is, the social safety net in America is your family and if you don’t have that. Well. 🤷♀️

Only 12 states list the age of consent as 18, the rest are either 16 or 17 years of age. And then there was Spain.
You still can’t pay to have sex with a child, even if over the age of consent.
Prostitution is illegal in most of america, all of it if the person is under 18-21(depending on state).
And the states with 16-17 age of consent, all have clauses that make it illegal if the 18+ person is in a position of power over the other.
Most of those states have Romeo and Juliette laws. An adult that isn't in their lower 20s (depends on the state, Missouri its 21) cannot sleep with someone who is 17.
And majority of the others have clauses that limit who can have sex with a 16-17 year old typically limited to year gaps and prior relationships.
You think Spain had the lock on that with 14? Lmao. Nope. In 9 US states there's no minimum age.

One of his “wing men” has been giving them gold evidence, he had his sentencing delayed 3 TIMES and one of gatez exs came in to talk to the investigators

This is typical of federal investigations. Compare it to Josh Duggar's case, which was a lot less complex (he was in possession of child porn.) The feds raided his workplace and seized his computer in November of 2019. They charged Duggar in April of 2021
Keep in mind that they dismissed 27 of the 33 charges against his buddy Joel Greenberg in exchange for his cooperation against Gaetz. The feds don't do that unless they know they are getting another conviction out of it.
