Cornelia Mary Meehan (née Minicucci) was called home on October 29, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. Cornelia was born September 5, 1937 in Waterbury CT, the eldest of 3 children. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1955 and St Joseph College in 1959 with a BS in Nursing. Cornelia married George R Meehan (dec.) in 1961 and had 3 daughters. Cornelia worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years. Cornelia, and her family, lived and was active in her communities in: Cheshire CT, Exeter NH, Brea CA, and Avon CT. She and George retired in Thousand Oaks, CA to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. In all the places that Cornelia resided, she was active in her Catholic faith. She was involved in choir, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and in RCIA. Cornelia was a sister of several PEO chapters, an avid seamstress and bridge player. She enjoyed playing golf and tennis. In California, Cornelia sang with the Sweet Adeline’s and enjoyed many competitions in the US and Japan. Cornelia is survived by her 3 daughters: Kathleen Meehan Lorenzo (Jay) Seattle, WA, Patricia Tenney, Moorpark, CA. and Mary Ellen Jones (Jim) Olympia, WA. 7 grandchildren: Matthew Tenney (Jessica), Hanna Jones (Austin Ansingh), Christopher Tenney, Jackson Jones, Julianna Lorenzo, Megan Tenney and Michael Lorenzo. Her sister: Jeanne O’Connor (George) Dayton, OH, her brother John Minicucci (Carol) Waterbury CT and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 28, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, Thousand Oaks, CA.
