90 years old, passed away August 11, 2014 in Carmichael, California. He was born July 11, 1924 in Oakland, California to Shirley W. and Ida (Clark) Martin. Wiley was a decorated WWII Eighth Airforce bombardier who flew 32 missions. He attended UC Berkeley and graduated with degrees in History and Education.
Wiley was a dedicated educator. He was a teacher and superintendent in the Oakdale Unified School District for many years. He also served as teacher, principal, and personnel director for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District in Contra Costa County.
Wiley is preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Keathley. He is survived by his sister Shirley Switzer, and his four children: Wiley Jr., Ann Marie (Woolley), John, and Elizabeth (Izzy); nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family invites all who knew him to join in a celebration of his remarkable life on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, 246 S. Church St., Grass Valley, CA.
