"Maybe this is how divorce is supposed to look...." "Maybe this is how divorce is supposed to look...."
Season 17 - Denver

"...It's supposed to be two people choosing to go their separate ways, in a really beautiful, amicable way.." Said Chloe, a woman who did an "experiment" for 8 weeks and didn't have history, established friends, joint property, co-mingled finances, children, routines, years of ups and downs and custody of favorite hang out spots to work out. But sure, divorce can be really beautiful.

Lauren/Chloe Lauren/Chloe
Season 17 - Denver

The more I think about it, the more I think Lauren tried to get Michael to pick a side, or she did something to try to get him to say or think something that would negatively impact his friendships with the guys and Chloe.

Reasons:

Chloe said Lauren forgot where his loyalties are. That could have been about her, but it could have also been about the guys. Michael is not going to side against any of them.

Chloe told Michael that the girls still struggling with the fact their husbands didn’t want them is not her problem, and she emphasized to Michael that it’s not his problem either. There was something knowing between them about that.

Michael made a point to say when he met with Lauren and Claire that he wants to show that he can be friends with both sides. He met with Lauren and took her a gift specifically to give that message. (I don’t think Becca was there. Does it bother her to be around one of Austin’s friends?)

Lauren said that if Michael is going to be friends with Chloe then she’s out. She doesn’t want to be friends at all unless he breaks off friendship with Chloe? Can’t even be long distance, cordial friends? This after he extended an olive branch, complete with thoughtful gift?

Chloe was accused of husband stealing. Was this about Austin (clearly her closest friend of the guys). Is there a link between that accusation and the timing of Lauren befriending and trying to bring Michael around to the pink girls side of things?

I’ve decided I believe Lauren is gaslighting a little bit, not telling the whole truth, and she’s trying to make Chloe look jealous and petty. I am suspicious of Lauren’s story. Chloe didn’t say anything bad about Lauren except that Lauren misjudged Michael’s loyalties. Chloe didn’t name names about who was saying/doing what, just that they as a group were hostile to her and she doesnt want any part of their group think mentality. I believe Chloe on all that.

Edit: fix typo

Scene with Emily's Therapist Scene with Emily's Therapist
Season 17 - Denver

One doesn't need to be an expert to see that Emily is very full of herself. She said to him that she's had growth (??) and she's "the best by giving 50% of effort. [her] 50% is better than most people's 100." She also said that she didn't realize she had low self esteem coming into this. Really? Miss "I'm an 8-1/2" and "How could you not want to make out with me" and "I'm cute" and "I can have a boyfriend any time I want." Really? All that self esteem came from the experiment? That said, I truly hope that her therapist watches the entire season, especially the reunion shows and this recent catch up show. He'll see the real Emily, not the one one the couch in his office.

Goodbye Stupid Words Goodbye Stupid Words
Season 17 - Denver

This has to be the most exhausting MAFS when it comes to buzz words and terms.

I swear if Michael said 'foster' one more time I was going to lose my shit on the last episode. I am not going to miss his over-worded corporate speak one bit.

No more 'optics' from Becca, or 'healing' or 'healing journey' from ANY of them.

No more safe space, truth, narrative, sitting with it, leaning into it, processing, unpacking, grace....

My goodness it was so insufferable. Hopefully on Chicago the couples won't sound like they all crammed self help, new age, therapy, and business vernacular books.

No one seems to have enjoyed the final episode re "where are they now" but I did No one seems to have enjoyed the final episode re "where are they now" but I did
Season 17 - Denver

I found the episode to be a good close to the season.

I sorta LOVE the idea of Austin, Michael and Orion having their own little guy crew. I noticed they have a great vibe when they hang out. They'd make a nice stoner crew. Austin definitely seemed stoned, as usual, and I can't tell with Michael, but I imagine he'd like to partake to "foster" friendship with the guys. Orion seemed sober but the poor guy could use a blunt or two after what happened this season.

Also, Michael and Orion both look great with the short hair! (I never liked Michael's other do, but Orion looks good with it long or short). And Austin . . . he just seems like such a fun person to hang out with. He's such a cutie.

Becca looked and sounded much happier than the reunion episodes. She reminded me of how she was in the earlier episodes. Good for her.

I love Chloe more with each episode. The weird whatever-is-going-on-between-Michael-and-her is so cute. Their awkward, flirtatious banter is hilarious. I also love that she's so into the animal sanctuary.

I saw Cam and Brennan for 10 seconds but it seems like they moved on. Good for them- I like them both.

Lauren always seems like a dud to me. Sorry, Lauren fans. Also, I don't want to be judgmental about style, but, wow, she really doesn't dress for her body. Each episode confirms that. And why does she continue to be so cagey whenever anyone asks her if she's dating someone?? She does seem like she's moved on from the Orion stuff, though, so that's a relief. And she didn't participate in that horrible tattoo idea!

People are saying Claire made up the boyfriend but Lauren said she met him, so -yeah-wow, every pot has its lid or whatever the saying is. And she got a job (those poor kids, lol.) She and Emily still seem to have some sort of toxic entanglement, though.

Emily seems the same as during the reunion and the whole season, to be frank. Good luck, girl! As long as she's not stalking Brennan's new girlfriend, though, then I'll take that to be a plus!

MAFS DENVER MAFS DENVER
Season 17 - Denver

WTF happened to Emily ? Her whole attitude did a complete flip compared to the beginning of the season. After watching the reunion and “where are they now” she is insufferable to watch. The cocky attitude for no reason and victimizing is just gross, honestly all the girls for that matter, Claire as well they are up each others ass. The only sane one out of the group is Chloe, I think she carries herself extremely well and makes the others look like children.

Emily really doesn’t get it… Emily really doesn’t get it…
Season 17 - Denver

I felt bad for her therapist in his scene with Emily. Before he spoke, listening to her say, my 50% is better than most people’s 100%, I’ve been through more than most, and handled it better than most could—I thought, no one who actually believes that about themselves says those things. Truly confident and secure people don’t compare themselves to other people, because it’s meaningless.

It’s a childish and desperately insecure way of pumping yourself up. How anyone else does anything, doesn’t make you better or worse. Her therapist understands this and tried to gently explain this to her, but she very clearly didn’t understand. At all.

She’s the worst type of therapy patient. It’s all performative. She’s not learning, reflecting or doing the work on herself. She could be in therapy for years, but if she doesn’t start looking at herself nothing will ever change.

The producers are ruining this show just like they did dance moms- with PLANTED DRAMA The producers are ruining this show just like they did dance moms- with PLANTED DRAMA
Discussion

This is how lifetime does ALLLL of their so-called “reality” shows. I actually wrote a letter to the production company in charge to tell them the are ruining a good show with producer- planted drama.

All of the “rumors” that the cast heard regarding cams double date comment was obv the production telling them. Also the PRODUCER going out with Austin on decision day. THEY DO THIS SHIT ON PURPOSE. And I KNOW because I’m listening to Christi and Kelly’s podcast about dance moms and they are saying almost ALL the drama was planted and pushed by producers.

This show used to be good but they think that people want DRAMA but what I USED TO love about this show the most were the success stories. This season had 0 success stories because the producers PURPOSELY sabotaged each marriage.

The email that I sent was to reception@kineticcontent.com

Please join me - let’s blow up their inbox and DEMAND they focus on the success of the couples because that’s what they want to see
