Steam is preferentially generated at as high a pressure as possible, because high-pressure steam is more valuable than low-pressure steam.
When considering conversion to low-pressure steam of equipment currently operating
on high-pressure steam, it is important to recognize that steam pressure can have a significant effect on
equipment.
High-pressure steam is steam which is at or above 75 pounds per square inch gauge pressure.
