Tammy H Saw this movie in 1982 when it first came out. It was such a rotten movie I remember it to this day-40 years later. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A parasite is an organism that lives at the expense of another being. Parasite is a movie that lives at the expense of your time. But it launched a 3D trend in horror and Demi Moore's career. Not bad for a movie they wrote in a week Here's a link to our episode about it anchor.fm/foundonshelfpod/episodes/Parasite-e1iluke Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This is not a great film at all, but if you are nostalgic for some 1980's VHS gold, this has that kind of charm to it. PROS: Al Fann, Vivian Blaine and James Cavan. CONS: The entire movie. It has very poor dialogue, uninspired acting and the overall pace of the film is terrible. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the future set up in this world. Feels authentic, even if little else here does. Some really great characters sprinkled throughout it though. Much more fleshed out than is usually offered up in this kind of movie. The 3D was actually pretty well done at times, even if it would often just make me go cross-eyed and cause a headache. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/19 Full Review Audience Member It's one of the movies that you really need to watch more than once because of the complexity of it. I have a sense that it will gradually grow in the opinions of movie scholars. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review delysid d imagine these italian film makers going to the movies and seeing Alien. they got so inspired by the greatness of that film that they went home and immediately starting work on their own Alien film. the result was not nearly as great as the hollywood version to say the least but their stupid ass films have a special place in my heart Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/17/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Variety Staff Variety Parasite is lethargic between its terror scenes, making it a test of patience for all but the fanatical followers of horror cheapies. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Derek Adams Time Out Uninspired actors intone a banal script, reduced by clumsy pacing to a minimum of suspense. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times This is a badly acted B movie without much flair for involving its audience. Rated: 2/5 Aug 30, 2004 Full Review Alan Jones Starburst Exists totally for its 3-D images and getting through the turgid plot in between is really quite a haul. Jul 29, 2022 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...a horror film with a few novel ideas, some nasty gore, and a few dashes of humour... Rated: 3/5 Feb 18, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins It's surprising how rapidly the film devolves, especially when the opening scenes featured amusing nightmare sequences, eerie music, and gruesome gore effects.
