Thoughts on the Van Helsing episode "There's No I in Team" -- plus Marci T. House in "Stolen By My Mother: The Kamiyal Mobley Story" -- Matreya Scarrwener in "Shall We Play?"
It sucked. Nothing but a bunch of high school girls screaming and making shit emotional decisions.
I kept skipping through it, then I skipped some more. After more skipping, I skipped everything. I regret my 1.99$ purchase on Amazon. If this is the direction of the show, then my direction is elsewhere.
I do not want a younger Vanessa that teenagers can relate to. No one cares about fucking teenagers. We were all once teenagers. Can't name a single person that thinks that time period was awesome. We're adults, we have fucking money, we don't want to see teenager hormone bullshit.
It was terrible. Shaky cam and plot abuse.
I thought it was cool seeing the shit actually go down even if through the eyes of very emotional teenage girls constantly screaming. We’ve seen a few scenes of the rising but we never got to see shit hit the fan with people dropping left and right. The two brunette girls died without much ceremony which was kinda oof. The big blonde girl which looks like Julius as a teenage girl died and was kinda sad. Then Shelley’s death kinda had some weight because we all focused on Jack because we knew she was our protagonist but Shelley was really the main character of the episode. She talked the most and was the most level headed making decisions. Then on the rooftop she told jack she got bit and how she felt before jumping. Could almost feel the pain in knowing you’re gonna die, that you only get to tell the person you love how you feel right before your death and never got anything with them, and knowing that your death is going to be even more pain than she’s already going through. Her death was kinda creepy too. No typical Hollywood drama of slow mo falling or a over exaggerated “nooooooo!!!” Or jack trying to pull her up. You just see jack screaming and crying in pain and in the corner of the frame there’s Shelley on the edge and she just leans back and falls and is gone in less than a second.
I know we didn't get to see our favorites, but I actually liked it. The show started long after the vampire apocalypse had begun, it was nice to see some back story.
this episode is the mother of all that is gnarly, my fucking god. I mean it could be nice to see the origins of some of the characters but this? shakycam and screaming. fucking hell
The 'Jack and a pack of screaming lassies' episode was totally absurd and pointless. And that woman in a parking lot without any sense of self-preservation whatsoever screaming when it was obvious to keep silent, duh, I was smashing the fast forward like mad))) it all seemed like them writers had eventually run out of ideas on how to suck more out of viewers, real vampiric episode. Wasted 15 min of my life, merely skipping through. The whole show was a bit of a drag honestly. 25 mins of true action out of 40 smthng, like 85% of all episodes. And penny worth cracks in between long arse close ups and close outs, like some apocaprolaps nat geo wild show. Imagine skipping a minute watching the Wire, no, you'd go back again and again just for the cracks) But here even the title freezing for more than 5 sec every time, man they were really after our blood, hm, time. And Lego like flimsy and chaotic characrer development just takes the cake. Like some bored kid putting blocks in then ripping them off. Decent and sound people can become idiots at the drop of a hat. So tiring and infuriating. Couldn't finish the show past that idiotic episode. A puke in a smelly broth, put me off just like that. Vanessa can eff off now)))
