Isn't this whole page a copyright infringement?

The copying went the other way around. Go back to http://www.worldhistory.com/wiki/M/Marcheline-Bertrand.htm and scroll down to the bottom of the page. You'll find the link back to the Wikipedia article that worldhistory.com copied. Ethnic background/heritage[edit]

On 23 January 2007, 64.171.134.239 changed the ethnicity by dropping reference to her being Iriquois and changing her national background from French Canadian to Spanish. There were no citations made for the change and I can't verify that to be correct from any sources. The Biography Channel indicates she is French Canadian and Iroquois. French Canadian and Quebecois are the same thing.When you add both at the same time it doesn't make any sense.It's like saying that you are a female and a woman.

Cause of death accurate?[edit]

Done of the news reports have indicated the exact cause of death. Although she had cancer, it may not have been the cause of death as she could have had pneumonia, medicine reaction, etc. 23skidoo 16:21, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply[reply]

In the wider context, this type of cancer can be found in the bios of many celebrities, also among women of my private acquaintance. Along with other forms of abdominal cancer, including cervical, could this be a matter of hygiene, the male partner primarily? Women should be aware of the avoidable risk & expect their lovers to bathe regularly, an awkward topic for sure to bring up as part of romance.--If correct, among the beautiful ladies of the screen lost this way, Audrey Hepburn's case is a particularly sad one. hgwb 20:59, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Grandmother title accuracy?[edit]

Is it fair to call her a 'grandmother' to both children she is biologically related to and to children she is not? If so, there should be some mention that two of the children are adopted, and she is a grandmother in her role in their lives, but not in biology. Also, Angelina adopted Pax in March 2007, 3 months after her mother passed away, so Pax isn't exactly his 'grandmother'.

A grandmother is a grandmother whether alive at the time or not. Such as someones great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and the like is still labeled as such though most people were not born while these relatives were alive. Birth location[edit]

Before today the article had stated that she was born in Chicago and citing a source. However that source states that she was born in Riverdale. Old topic, I know, but Marcheline Bertrand was actually born in Blue Island, Illinois. The Suburbanite Economist, dated May 17, 1950, said: "Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Bertrand of Riverdale are rejoicing over the birth of their first child, a girl born Tuesday May 9, at St Francis hospital, Blue Island. The baby, who has been named Marcia Lynn, is the first grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gouwens of Riverdale. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Bertrand, of Dolton." "wargs.com" citations removed[edit]

I have removed citations to Ancestry of Angelina Jolie. That source contains the disclaimer, "The following material on the immediate ancestry of Angelina Jolie should not be considered either exhaustive or authoritative, but rather as a first draft." (Italics added.) That warning seems sufficient to disqualify the page as a source for use in a Wikipedia article. Eddie Blick (talk) 03:24, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have removed this citation from connected articles (Jolie and Haven). There was also what looked to be a linked family tree as a google doc / dead link. But no idea if it sourced any content. Some of the citations used in these three articles (Mother and two children) did not in any way source the content. The details about the speculative 10th g-grandmother were left in, but with citations that didn't source the content.
