Emanuel “Manny� Kramer, a long-time Charles City resident, died May 7th. He was born August 11, 1932 in Trenton, NJ, the son of immigrants Dora Trachtenberg and Harry Kramer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law Beryl, nephew Arthur, and step- daughter Nancy Schallock. Manny leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life Nova Brady; brother Gerson Kramer; niece Phyllis Kramer, her daughter Megan Allen-Kingsland (Ben), and grandchildren, Piper and Ivy; niece Rachel Harris (Robert) and children Ryan Harris (Carolee) and Robin Harris; step-daughter Ellene Hunt (Dean) and her children and grandchildren Jonathan Hunt (Stacy) Ian and Julien, Jeremy Hunt (Lillybeth) Aneesa, Dylan and Layla, Nathan Hunt (Heather) Isabella and Brady, Marc Hunt (Hoshin) Amélie, Derek Hunt (Lucy) Sawyer; step-daughter Nancy Coggins (James) and her children Chandler, Katie and Melissa; step-son David Ledbetter (Judith) and his children and grandchildren Hannah Lichty (Will) Marlow, Miles and Dahlia, Jordan Ledbetter (Caroline); granddaughter Lainey Schallock-Drenth (Andrew); nine Trachtenberg cousins; and devoted friend, Flo Gussman. Manny graduated from Rutgers Univ. in 1954 with a degree in electrical engineering and enjoyed a 37-year career working on government projects. In retirement he was an active member of Temple Beth El, delivered Meals on Wheels, served on the Heritage Public Library Board, and read enough books to fill a library. Manny will be remembered as a loving step-father, grandfather and inveterate tinkerer. A funeral service will be held at Temple Beth El, Williamsburg, Monday May 14th at 2 pm, burial following in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
