I grew up in Manchester and have attended the schools throughout my whole life. It is a tight-knit community here in Manchester and the student body is considerably small compared to some of our neighboring school districts. While this leaves more to be desired when it comes to diversity among the student body, I have had a good experience as a student here. Despite somewhat limited resources when it comes to technology or materials, in comparison to other schools, there are plenty of opportunities to thrive both academically and athletically here at Manchester. Thanks to the supportive faculty and staff, as well as the close community, Manchester schools are an excellent learning environment. At Manchester they value and incorporate core characteristics such as leadership, responsibility, and proactivity early on starting in elementary school, and throughout middle and high school. I have had great support and guidance throughout my academic career, making my future bright.
Hated my first years here. Felt near constantly unsafe and faculty didn't do anything against obvious bullying, feel constantly anxious and my first year English teacher didn't respect my accomodations at all (She has since quit.)
Didn't even know periods of American literature until a teacher from another school taught me it. Very obvious racism, would not send your kid here if they are not what people consider white. Consider another school like Saline HS unless you have transportation issues, much more supportive.
Old History/English teacher screamed at us for doing NOTHING just cause he was mad that day (he either quit or got fired.)
Botany, Chem, and Science teachers are nice atleast the ones I've met. Very supportive teachers. Current gym teacher is nice.

My time at Manchester high school has been rewarding, challenging, and enlightening. I have been pushed by my some of teachers to be the best version of myself that I can be. I went into high school, wanting to just get by. Now, going into my 4th year at Manchester I have learned that you have to live your high school life to the fullest. You have to take chances. I joined the drama club last year and worked my way up to being the director's assistant for my senior year. I’ve had hard times with sports that changed the way I view myself and the people around me. My whole life I've loved playing basketball, but one year of freshman high school basketball changed my opinion of the whole sport. I quit after that year and have learned that I like sports based on individual growth. I have been academically challenged to the point that I have wanted to quit school, but with the support from the Manchester staff and community, I have overcome and grown into the best version of myself.
