Job Description

Red Storm Entertainment is looking for an experienced Senior UX Designer to join our studio! As an integral part of our UI and UX team and in collaboration with Artists, Designers, and Engineers, you will help create clear, meaningful, and memorable user experiences for our players through your expertise with information and interaction design.

We welcome people working in our studio in Cary, North Carolina, or remotely within the continental US.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design innovative, intuitive, and fun interactions and user experiences informed by our players goals, user research, and usage data.

  • Plan, prioritize and iterate on the design for new and existing experiences in collaboration with Game Design, Production, and other key stakeholders.

  • Maintain design documentation from conception through implementation and iteration including detailed user flows, user journeys, information architecture, storyboards, wireframes, and control schemes.

  • Develop and curate a project design system to ensure a consistent user experience, allow our product to scale efficiently over time, and improve collaboration with other teams through a shared knowledge base.

  • Be self-directed; work independently and collaboratively with team members to solve UX challenges.

  • Provide mentorship to other UX designers and contribute to the shared knowledge of user-centered design, design methodologies, and best practices with the team as a whole.

  • Communicate and collaborate with all members of the team, helping to establish and maintain team culture.

Qualifications

  • An advocate for our players, adept at identifying and designing information, interactions, and interfaces for them – considering their mental models, cognitive load, and access and abilities.

  • Well versed in user-centered design including accessibility best practices and Universal Design.

  • Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Figma and other design wireframing and prototyping tools

  • Extensive knowledge of UX in games across multiple genres on all platforms

  • Strong artistic, verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to conceptualize, present, and execute ideas at a high level within a tight schedule.

  • Strong interpersonal skills-able to interact with team members of different disciplines and personality types.

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and help establish best practices.

  • A willingness to observe, absorb, and adapt to work based on continued learning and team and player feedback.

  • Serves as a culture leader, setting and maintaining the tone and morale for the department.

Job Description

Red Storm Entertainment has an exciting opportunity for a talented Lead Technical Animator to join our teams! We are looking for a Technical Animator with a blend of strong technical skills in rigging/programming, as well as a good artistic sense. At RSE, TAs are challenged to not only create incredible rigs but to ensure optimal performance and look in game engines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work directly with Character, Weapon and Animation teams to define and create the best rigs, control interfaces, tools and workflows for a wide range of styles and art directions.

  • Collaborate with our development partner studios across the world in the development of asset pipelines.

  • Create the tools and establish the pipeline for rigging characters and getting key frame animations or motion capture data to create high quality simple to complex biped and quadruped animation sets.

  • Be proactive – Work effectively with Animators and Character artists so that they are aware of concerns and issues dealing with animation production.

  • Be self-driven – Produce work in an efficient and timely manner, adhering to an agreed-upon schedule.

  • Be diligent – Insure quality of related assets by maintaining responsibility over animations tools and pipeline throughout the projects development including fixing bugs, assigned by project leads.

  • Provide support to games in production – Contribute to the success of the team, and the studio, through your personal contribution to the product.

  • Provide team/company support – Each team member is expected to provide feedback on ideas, features, game-play, and process.

  • Document pipeline and tools development processes.

  • Inspire and empower the art team to optimize their processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing, creating and supporting complex character, facial and weapon rigs

  • Experience building tools to improve animation, rigging and / or character pipelines

  • Able to own the skinning process for a variety of creatures, characters, garments, and gear

  • Extensive knowledge of Python and DCC tools APIs

  • Experience working with outsourcing agencies for mocap/rigging

  • Good understanding of real time animation systems and game console constraints.

  • Experience using motion capture systems

  • Key Frame Animation Experience

  • Knowledge of Motion Builder

  • 3D modeling and texturing skills a strong plus

  • Strong interpersonal skills-able to interact with team members of different disciplines

Job Description

Red Storm Entertainment is looking for an experienced Senior UI Technical Artist to join our team as the link between art and code! You'll work with industry-leading tools, like our proprietary game engine, and collaborate with a team of UI/UX Designers, Artists, Designers, and Programmers, to create advanced UI content for our games.

We welcome people working in our studio in Cary, North Carolina, or remotely within the continental US.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Implement static and animated user interfaces utilizing our node-based, visual scripting language, that are easy to understand, easy to navigate, and convey information for effective end user experience.

  • Provide in game UI assets to support team-wide project communication vision, and marketing needs.

  • Build logical UI Flows and produce the final engine assets.

  • Execute UI design in engine with a keen eye for detail at all levels – keeping in mind the overall art treatment, screen-to-screen- UI placement, and data structures, while applying and maintaining consistency throughout the entire project interface.

  • Communicate and collaborate with all disciplines necessary to deliver features on time, in line with the art direction, and with the players best interest in mind.

  • Ensure our UI is optimal with continued iteration and development.

  • Identify priorities and gaps in current designs, data structures, and contribute/iterate on creative/technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with node-based scripting languages or coding languages (C#, Python, Java, etc.).

  • A leadership mindset with a proven ability to work with a team first mentality.

  • A strong eye for quality and are always seeking to improve.

  • Desire to solve problems and ability to think both technically and artistically, considering accessibility and optimization in your work.

  • Exceptional Interpersonal skills – able to interact with team members of different disciplines and personality types.

  • Strong understanding of engine technologies, optimization, and data structures.

  • Extensive knowledge of UI in games across multiple genres on all platforms.

  • A positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

  • Ability to find and debug issues within content.
