The course curriculum is highly relevant by covering key aspects of sustainable tourism. This influenced my decision to choose this course.the curriculum adequately prepares students for real world applications by incorporating hands on projects. The area for improvement in the curriculum could include more emphasis on geographic information system to better equip students for emerging trends in the field. Exploring the Horizon: A Journey Through Madras Christian College and its Unique Course Offerings

The campus is very nice. I fell in love with the atmosphere, there deers and peacock in our campus and it has a forest cover, the campus is of 300 acres.
The number of events and festivals that are held in the college

Less placement opportunities in geography department
Some faculty members are not good but students can't do anything about them.

The admission process comprised two straightforward steps: an online phase followed by an offline verification at the college admission office. Online, we submitted our qualifications, made registration payments, and selected desired courses, paying for each separately. Upon selection, a confirmation email arrived, prompting full payment for the semester, in my case, totaling 49000. The offline verification, involving parents, ensured document authenticity. However, a drawback was the requirement for CBSE board students to obtain authorization from Madras University, adding nearly 10 days to the process.

The course curriculum is moderately rated at 5 out of 10. While it holds potential, its effectiveness is compromised by faculty members who lack seriousness in teaching. Some professors simply provide notes for exam preparation rather than delivering proper instruction. In terms of tourism management, there are deficiencies such as the absence of practical classes and study tours in the first year. Conversely, the geography component offers a richer experience with numerous practical opportunities. However, given that the course is combined(Geography tourism and travel management), students must endure the shortcomings of the tourism management faculty throughout the three-year duration.

The beginning

The distinction between aided stream and self finance stream.
The campus is filled with animals and trees

We can find the application on their website, pay the fees in the website and everything was included in it. The cut off mark was above 75% and i got in because there is a seat reserved for the Christian. Everything is excellent.

I chose political science as my major as I think it will help me in the future for the competitive exams that I face. The courses are perfect and we have the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Ca and End semester exams. The courses are very well put for the people who just came out to taste the real world.

The review I should have read before getting applying:)

Drees, peacocks, trees, wild bunnies (they cute), the tress on campus (very good and instant peace to the soul), handful of people, meeting people, if you're jobless (not in the literal sense even though you and I are) then you can socialize crazy!
Platform for trying new things (you have to put yourself out there if you want to try things, nothing's gonna be handed to you), the canteen food is good (atleast the ones I tried)

HALL LIFE ( -10000000/10), mess food, THE HEAT! and also THE NETWORK (very bad network:'))
Seriously just hall. Never should have spent a year there. Anything and everything related to hall. Just get a jio sim if network's bad but hall. (no compromise) NEVER COMPROMISE!

The admission process for me was pretty chill. No CUET required, if you're from ST or SC or you're a Christan group then you have reservations. The application forms, application fees and dates are all posted on the official college website. You apply for the college, wait for the admission letter, pay your fees and then go for the verification process on campus. I don't have any issues with the process so pretty chill ( atleast for me)

The curriculum had all the main aspects and topics I wanted to study about and it was taught accordingly in the way they knew well (though It definitely wasn't what I had pictured:)) i wish the syllabus was more engaging and not outdated. Something that I could use in real time because someone from the IT dept could do my job better than me without the degree:). So maybe more of computer based things in the curriculum that would help me get a job :)

The faculty is very supportive & encouraging.
The computer lab is always available for the students.

There's a women's lounge in the middle of the main campus but there was no lounge for men until recently, which is in some corner of the campus.
The computers in our department are pretty outdated, like almost a decade.

Eligibility for my course "B.Sc. Geography Tourism & Travel Management" was around 50-60% in 12th. Application was to be submitted online on their official website, & if you get selected, you were sent an "Admission Card" through e-mail. Application fee was 150/- I believe & the admissions were going on during July. There were no entrance exams. The only aspect I didn't like was that the ID card were not given immediately with the reason that some documents were not submitted, which in my case was the 12th marksheet, but I did give my digilocker marksheet which is supposed to be accepted, as it's central government accredited.

I didn't really choose this course for the curriculum, because as I mentioned, I joined here as the CUET results were too late. The professors let us ask them to teach certain parts practically like teaching us to use GIS softwares, which aren't in the curriculum as not everyone is interested in learning them & since the course is allied with Tourism. A couple of professors can update their way of teaching as they just send the notes right before the day of exam. The difficulty level of exam papers is fairly good, with exams held every other month apart from the semester exams, with timings varying between 2PM & 4:15PM (Self Financed Stream).

MCC and its Truth

The freedom you have inside college is really good. you can enjoy your college life.
Its wildlife. You can spot a lot of animals around the college like deers, monkeys and more

Some staffs who complain about the dress code even thought the student follows it
You cant talk to some professors and expect an reply

Eligibility of the course was quite low compared to toher colleges and im in shift two which is evening shift so it was much easier to get. The application forms are posted in the offical mcc website during the time of admission and they have all the details of all the courses they offer there as well. The frequency of exams would be once in 1-2 months and two semesters a year, so two semester exams.

Specific Aspects that influenced me was the broad core subject they had included with a vast extra courses as well. The curriculum prepares you for your higher studies like masters and is really helpful for it. Areas of improvement would be to bring in more activites and making sure every student understands what they teach. Exams are not tough and are generally easy but it solely depends on how you study.

It's overall good in MCC

The canteen is hygienic and budget friendly.
The college maintained its vintage aesthetic all around the college.

The teachers are not good as we expected.
If you are not in hostel there will be a huge chance for getting bored in college.

Mostly you should have greater than 90% in 12th.Once you applied to college they will publish cut off result and if you are in the selected list they will send you message to your registered email and phone.Then you can pay the first semester and registration fees.I prefer to fast as you possible.

The BCA is one of the most relevant course in nowdays.Around 75% or above of the class filled with boys and rest girls.People from all over the country come to learn from MCC.Teachers and Syllabus is pretty good.There won't any delay in pre-scheduled date unless any emergency(rare).Exam conducts in standard manner.
