Trivia[]

  • Her death and her death alone was the reason why her character, Sarabi, did not appear in the film's sequel The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and neither in the series The Lion Guard, as she was irreplaceable. The directors thought it would be disrespectful and inappropriate to replace her voice. So they wanted to keep her memory alive by making some characters have a strong resemblance to Sarabi.
  • She and James Earl Jones had previously starred together in Coming to America, in which they also played a king and queen.
