Great movie! Continues with the same characters that we loved from the other movies. Spoiler alert! Tired of waiting for the penguins the seek after to find them. When they find them gambling they are accidentally seen. The people call a lady who hunts animals. They tell her about the lion and then she’s ready to add his head to her wall of animals. All of the animals are trying to run away they find a circus and go with them. When they are going to be kicked out the penguins buy the entire circus. This circus use to be really good but something happened and now they are having a hard time. The team gets them back to where they are doing really good and doing new things. Their desire is back. During all this time they are still being hunted. Will the hunter find them? You’ll have to watch to see the end!
It's much better than the first one. The characters are endearing. The Russian tiger was a favorite. The movie was light and funny and quite silly and ridiculous at times, but it had some touching moments that really do have quite a bit of emotional depth behind them that should appeal to older audiences. This is something I like about Dreamworks, in comparison to a company like Pixar (although, I think Pixar is also an awesome company). Dreamworks tends to a little more hit and miss with their movies, but Dreamworks seems to take more chances, and as a result, they often come up with movies that are different and can be very deep and touching at times. Just a warning, I'm 23 years old, and I like many animated films, especially ones with animals so I'm probably a little biased. I was watching this movie with my 20 year old brother in the room, and he definitely thought it was funny, so perhaps that adds a little more credibility. This is the kind of movie that the entire family should be able to enjoy even if there are no kids around, but if there are kids around, I'm sure they'll love it. With regard to the movie package itself. There is not much to say on that. It is pretty much what you would expect. It seems good. The discs are stored well in the case. There is no idiotic stacking of discs or any nonsense like that. The cover art it nice. Great movie and great package.
I have to confess that I never cared for the first two 'Madagascar' films (except for the hysterical, commando penguins). The main characters were like the characters from 'Seinfeld', but without the commitment to self-satisfaction that made them funny.
In 'Europe's Most Wanted', Director Eric Darnell busts his entire cast free of their island prison; and, sets them loose on the world at-large. The animators and voice artists respond to the larger canvas with inspired acting, and a riot of movement and color that literally has to be seen to be believed.
The story (such as it is) has the heroes crashing the Monte Carlo Casino, being chased by a psycho French animal-control officer (a howlingly funny Frances McDormand) and hiding out with a down-on-its-luck animal circus. These elements are all that is needed for an animated tour-de-force.
The pace varies between fast, breakneck and ludicrous speed, with better jokes and a lot less bathos then in the first two 'Madagascar' installments. The crazy penguins are utilized brilliantly, the one-note King Julian is used sparingly (a little of him goes a LONG way) and the circus animals are perfectly compliments to push the main characters to a funnier level.
Madagascar III is for kids of all ages, fans of great animated movies or anyone who loves a good laugh.
This movie was a "visual delight to the eyes" plus "falling out of your chair" FUNNY! Chris Rock's character was Hilarious! I've watched it 3 times already and I don't see myself stopping any time soon! The Blu-ray version really "pops" with colors/clarity; some scenes looked almost 3-D (this is the only time I wish I had a 3-D capable HDTV-I'd have bought the 3-D version; without reservations)! It looked just like (if not better; quality-wise) the movie as seen in Theaters! Did I mention the action scenes? They are "top-notched" comparable (PG-wise) to any non-CG movie! Even with suspense included! You have to be carefully attentive to catch some of the adult(not-in-a-bad-way-for-kids) Humor. The "mad/crazy" animal control lady was also Crazy-Hilarious!
If I (ever) get tired of laughing; I'll probably just watch it for the spectacular visuals of the Blu-ray version. This movie was definitely worth buying the Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo(+Digital Copy+UltraViolet & Rainbow Wig) version! I think I'll watch it again tonight....
Oh, yeah...My kids liked it too! The included Rainbow Wig was not as "big & poofy" as I thought, but the kids enjoyed putting it on MY HEAD; more than their own! I definitely recommend this Blu-ray version of the movie! Very satisfied + good Amazon price...money well spent!
This movie was a Complete Blast!!! I'm a full grown adult here and this movie was THE Best Ever over the other two! The story line was very adequate, no issue there, but the continuous action in much of the movie completely kept my attention glued, (no house cleaning or ironing watching this!!) the Script(!!)--Hilarious!!--the quips-just kept on coming, the characters--really well rounded, Penguins---my crack up favorite(!), and the Colors in the artistry and backgrounds---for awhile there I thought someone slipped me some LSD right there in theatre! Especially the circus sequence where Katy Perry's song 'Firework' comes on and that was the Perfect song for that part!! (I won't even say how many times I've watched that sequence on dvd with my lap top computer in my face and speakers blaring!) Yes I had a Blast laughing and watching this movie at the theatre (and fortunately the rest of audience seemed to enjoy it as well!), so of course it's a dvd keeper. A kid's show? Sure but somebody is thinking of us adults!
This is a joyous romp of a movie. It's bright, colourful and action packed.
Our animal protagonists start the movie stranded in Africa and awaiting the return of the penguins who have gone to Monaco to gamble at the casinos. Tired of waiting, our heroes track them down before falling foul of a psychopathic animal control inspector who proceeds to pursue them across Europe.
Having crashed their Heath Robinson flying machine the animals hitch a lift with a decrepit circus. They learn that the circus is to be auditioned by an American agent for a gig in New York. Seeing an opportunity to get home the animals convince the circus animals that they are great circus performers and agree to train their rescuers in return for a chance to try out with the circus for passage to New York.
This is the cue for all sorts of physics-defying lunacy before the animals stage a psychedelic spectacular for an amazed audience.
As a 2nd sequel this is a pretty good film. Despite the one star detractors among the reviewers I think it holds up well against the first two films. There are new characters, plenty of action and the hopes, doubts and dreams of the circus animals drive the emotional core of the story. Yes it could be interpreted as giving a message that animals belong in a circus but only if you over-think it. After all, what circus has trapeze walking giraffes and hippos? Where would you see a sea lion or a zebra blown out of a cannon? It's too fantastic to take seriously.
Buy the movie, a big bag of popcorn and some drinks and enjoy a family night with the kids. You could do a lot worse.

182 five star reviews about this extraordinary smash hit animation says it all really. I'd say it was the best animated film this year, without a doubt. There is so much to love and enjoy in this movie. First off, the visual effects are incredible. The storyline is fantastic, it was so realistic and fun, and the voice talents of the likes of Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer etc are wonderful, each character in the movie is special in their own way, they each played their character so, so well, Ben Stiller & Chris Rock were fantastic, all I can say is that they must have been real fun to work with during filming. The additional characters, such as Gia, Stefano and Vitaly were also so very unique and were voiced to perfection. I could go on and on about every little detail, but I think you know what I thought of this movie! Now it's you're turn, get yourself a copy of this animated triumph, it's the best Madagascar movie yet! You really have to appreciate and enjoy this wonderful movie for yourself. It will not let you down, I can guarantee that. No one can rate this film poorly.

This is another faultless Madagascar film. All your favourite characters are there, on form, with some new ones to spice things up a bit. There's a bit of icing on the comedy cake in the form of some warm-hearted gags at the expense of our dear French neighbours, which always goes down well. If you loved the other Madagascar movies, you'll love this one. And if you didn't - what the hell is wrong with you?
I could grumble a bit about the price, which at £18 is a bit steep, but there is no more sincere indication of my love for this franchise than the fact that I couldn't wait a few weeks for the price to drop.
A few more child-centred extras would be nice, along the lines of the dance-along that came on the Ice Age 4 blu-ray, but that's a minor quibble, as is the lack of DTS.
All in all, another hilarious family film that keeps adults and - in my family's case - a two year old and a four year old absolutely gripped.
5.0 out of 5 starsSo, will they ever get back to New York Zoo? Would they want to?

Great follow up to the first two films that saw the animals dumped on the Island of Madagascar where they met the awful but compelling King Julian (voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen), and how they escaped to the mainland of Africa, home for their species. Discovering that life in the wild does not live up to their expectations, they travel across Europe in a bid to final make it back to New York and their beloved zoo. But, how does a group of wild animals travel incognito through mainland Europe? By joining the circus, of course. Join them in their latest (and last) adventure as they consider what they really want, and how they get it in this spectacular and fast moving end of the trilogy

The 3d is brilliant but not over the top, the colours and definition makes this a must have 3d movie , myself and my family watched this on a Panasonic 65" tv and trust me the 3d brings this movie to life. I just wished everyone had the Opportunity to watch a 3d film on a 3d tv this size because it will show 3d is the best thing to happen to movies and not just a fad, I try and buy every film I can in 3d but because its still not supported that well there is very little films in 3d I just hope all major releases in the future have a 3d film release with every disc
