“Dangerous” Lyme disease… an insect that sucks your blood and injects the disease into your body

Elaf from Beirut: Warnings have been issued in the United States of an outbreak of Lyme disease, which in some symptoms is similar to the “Covid-19” disease caused by the Corona virus.

Lyme disease is a bacterial animal infection transmitted to humans by an insect bite.

Although Lyme is not transmitted from one person to another, the chance of infection is great, as the disease vector lives everywhere, unlike the isolated bats that are believed to be the origin of the Corona epidemic.

About half a million people have been diagnosed with Lyme disease each year in the United States, which is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, since 2010.

The site (sanjosespotlight) says it is the most common and widespread transmitted disease in the United States, and poses a major threat to public health, for example, the disease is present in 56 out of 58 counties in California, or about 97 percent of the counties of the US state.

disease transmission

The disease is transmitted by ticks (a type of black-legged insect).

These insects stick to the bodies of humans and animals and feed on their blood, and through the blood, they transmit infection to humans.

It is believed by some that infection with this disease occurs when a person is in the middle of forests, where insects and mosquitoes abound, but a new study found that the insect that transmits the disease is present near the beaches as if it were in the forests.

The infection causes immediate symptoms such as fever, sore throat, muscle and bone pain, and sleep disturbances, while others experience a gradual onset of symptoms, and in some cases symptoms appear a month after the bite.

Early diagnosis and treatment are key to a quick recovery, because Lyme can affect the rest of the body, including the brain and nervous system if left untreated.

There are overlapping symptoms of Lyme with Covid-19, especially those related to long-term Covid, such as extreme fatigue and cognitive impairment.
