I did not like this movie. From the constant flashbacks to the obvious Biblical tie-in, this story is not to be believed. This was more like X-Men, than anything. I gotta say that I spent the whole movie trying to catch up. There is obviously gotta be more to the story that they or the author are not telling. I feel this is deliberate due to marketing concerns, specifically they want to make a sequel. Hence, I feel betrayed. They sacrificed the plot or storyline in order to adhere to the marketing gimmick-ploy. Had they told the story through the original timeline and just developed the plot more than relying on fast shuffling through a series of flashbacks it may have had a decent shot at being more entertaining than it was. You should try polling test audiences next time. We still don't know if they were made or were born, cloned or whatever.
Now let's deal with the Biblical premise. These are "supposed" to be angels which may have made for a better plot. The author even names one of the group or team or what you want to call it, Angel. So why tell a lie about some clones or genetic mutants as we were led to believe, when it would been better to tell the truth about angels. This was more contrived to crowbar something about a belief in clones than angels. It just misses totally.
There were so many questions left unanswered that it felt that the author wanted to force empathy into characters which could have led the audience to care when at the end of the day I was left flat. Some possible questions were Why did they only have a 4 year lifespan? It was never touched on after the credits. What about the friend she met saving from a rapist? We never find out more about that. So I am basically left wanting, and if there is a sequel on the horizon, maybe there are some explanations there also. Yet I do not want to invest the extra time to find them, when they should have been there in the first place. Had I paid money for this movie at a theater I would felt like asking for the price of admission back and I hardly ever feel this way. This author did a disservice to expect an audience to follow this convoluted storyline. I feel sorely put upon. It just goes to show that there are people who will take your hard earned money any way they can. Sorry for the rant but modern authors should place themselves in the audience before actually putting their name to their works. Troy Lawson
