We went into this little gem for breakfast. Located on a cute street, with easy parking, we were seated immediately and the food was delicious! My husband had the veggie omelet and I had the chicken and biscuits.Service was great as well.
We try to visit a new city every year at Christmas time and this year we picked Cedar Rapids since it's an easy drive for us from Springfield, IL. We shopped and walked around Czech Village earlier in the day, and I loved the vibe...there, so I suggested we go back there to eat at Lucky's at night after we rested at our hotel a few miles away. Lucky's atmosphere was just what we needed for a relaxed "date night" dinner, complete with Christmas twinkle lights hung from the ceiling. The menu was a big assortment of traditional bar food (burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc) mixed with a big selection of breakfast items which are available all day. Our server was friendly, attentive, and the food was really good. I got a build-your-own-burger, where you can select from nearly 40 different burger toppings and I chose cottage cheese for my side item. My man got a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries with a bowl of chili, which was thick and meaty and quite different from the bar chili you find in Illinois. The burger and the Philly were HUGE and we both had plenty to take home (although our dog ended up stealing our leftovers and eating them!) Prices here were very reasonable for the portion sizes. We were very happy we came here, and would love to visit again in the future if we're in the area.More
My wife ordered a brat. It came out looking like it had spent overnight on a gas station roller Grill. It could barely be punctured with a fork. She sawed off about an inch long piece and it was so dry it removed all the...spit from her mouth like a meat flavored piece of cotton. We sent it back with the waitress after that bite and instead of removing it from the bill and being embarrassed about it they discounted the one item 20%. The money they gleaned from the inedible food they served is enough to guarantee will never go back.More
Lucky’s on 16th was on a cute little street with a lot of shops. It was early, so not much was open, but we wished we would have had time to come back in the afternoon or evening to see it more alive. My Denver...omelet was great with hash browns and toast. A good, solid breakfast! Love when we find little diners on our travels, as we always prefer to eat at local establishments.More
Any restaurant that serves breakfast all day long has to be good! I had the Villa-two eggs, bacon, and French toast. Others at the table had an omelette and nachos. We all enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. Prices were reasonable and the...service (Chloe) was amazing!More
Absolutely incredible breakfast! I had cinnamon coffee cake French toast which was amazing. My husband had the 2 egg breakfast with hash browns and bacon. Also excellent. We had to wait 40 minutes, but it was well worth it and a testimony to their tasty...food! Probably the best breakfast in town!!!More
So happy this place opened, thanks Heather! Great service, food and the Bloody Mary's are spectacular! Breakfast menu is one of a kind, my husband suggests the Egg's Benedict. I just love their mac & cheese made with whatever I chose. Clean women's restrooms with...little necessities you may have forgotten to stick in your purse. That is a great personal touch. Right down in Czech Village so several unique shops to see walk too. Just added a outside area too if it ever gets nice :)More

Was there for a luncheon gathering. I ordered the special which was fish tacos. Nothing special. Due to the reviews, I will try this place again.
Had lunch here with a group of friends. Excellent and pleasant service. Adequate menu choices with unusual topping choices. Portions were a good size on the entrees but a side order of fries ($2.99) was TINY. Those who ordered the Mac & Cheese raved about...it.More
It was about one o'clock on a Saturday when we arrived at Lucky's. The place was half full so finding a table was not difficult. We got our menus and water and proceeded to wait about 15 minutes - no one came to take our...order despite seemingly ample staff. Life is too short to settle for poor service. We left and found a much better place down the street.More
I went to Lucky's on a week night with my sister. The place was empty when we got there, but the 4 staff people we saw seemed totally frazzled. It is a bar, slash, hamburger/chicken sandwich joint. Not complicated. The fun part is all the...choices to put on your burger or chicken. But the employees made us feel like we were annoying them. And the burger seemed to be a very skimpy "1/3 pound." By the time we left, around 7, the place was filling up. I would not go back.More
You could eat here everyday for a month and not run out of combinations to try. They have Mac and cheese, burgers, salads, and chicken. You then pick from this amazing list of things to add. The combinations are endless. I normally do not like...Mac and cheese (I know I am weird) but this place has great Mac and cheese. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfect. The Cole slaw was good. My husband's burger was fantastic to quote him. The service was friendly and fast. Please get out and support another fantastic non-chain choice in Cedar Rapids.More
This was a great stop on our Czech village self tour. We enjoyed drinks and apple pie on their patio which had really fun decor including sunflowers made from bike wheels and a beautiful flower mural.
