About the author
After completing a degree in Journalism and Media Communications, Cecelia wrote her first novel at 21 years old. Her debut novel, PS I Love You was published in January 2004, and was followed by Where Rainbows End (aka Love, Rosie) in November 2004. Both novels were adapted to films; PS I Love You starred Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler, and Love, Rosie starred Lily Collins and Sam Claflin.
Cecelia has published a novel every year since then and to date has published 15 novels; If You Could See Me Now, A Place Called Here, Thanks for the Memories, The Gift, The Book of Tomorrow, The Time of My Life, One Hundred Names, How To Fall in Love, The Year I Met You, The Marble Collector, Flawed, Perfect and Lyrebird.
To date, Cecelia’s books have sold 25 million copies internationally, are published in over 40 countries, in 30 languages.
Along with writing novels, Cecelia has co-created the US ABC Comedy Samantha Who? and has created many other original TV projects.
Cecelia’s next book is a collection of 30 short stories about 30 women, titled ROAR. ROAR will be published in the UK and Ireland in Autumn 2018 by HarperCollins UK, and in Spring 2019 in the US by Grand Central Publishing.
“At the age of 19 I experienced a difficult time in my life, and as I have done since childhood and throughout my teenage years, I turned to writing to process my feelings. PS I Love You was born from my feelings of sadness, fear and loss of my identity. I poured my heart into the story of a woman suffering from grief after the loss of her husband, a woman who had hit the lowest point of her life and was struggling with both the desire and the ability to find her way out of the fog. Writing Holly’s journey helped me find my own path, writing PS I Love You brought both Holly and I to a more positive place in our lives and that is what I continue to do with my novels.
The thread that links my work is in capturing that transitional period in people’s lives. I’m drawn to writing about loss, to characters that have fallen and who feel powerless in their lives. I am fascinated and inspired by the human spirit, by the fact that no matter how hopeless we feel and how dark life can be, we do have the courage, strength and bravery to push through our challenging moments. We are the greatest warriors in our own stories. I like to catch my characters as they fall, and bring them from low to high. My characters push through and as a result evolve, become stronger and better equipped for the next challenge that life brings. I like to mix dark with light, sadness with humour, always keeping a balance, and always bringing the story to a place of hope.”

During all those years, they will be in touch via instant messages, letters, invitations, e-mails. So don't be surprised by the form of the book.
There are many people involved in their life such as their husband and wives; Alex's brother Phil ; Rosie family: Stephanie, Kevin, and her parents; Rosie best friend Ruby. But we are also involve in the story of Katie (Rosie's daughter) and Toby who is her best friend .
The big question of the book is: is a friendship between a man and a woman possible without turning in a love affair? Or can it be possible to be best friend with someone who is the opposite gender without messing up our own life ?
My favorite character is Rosie : we see her fighting all over the years and she never gave up for the love of her child Katie. She was really down to eath too.
The book is really well done. First, I was on the way to put it down when I saw it was only instant messages and emails but the story is so nicely written that It quickly becomes really addictive . I wanted to know what was going next , what will happen to them, what they will answer to the other one . So I kept ready until late in the night ..
It's at the same time a funny by the way they talk and by some funny times and sad book: I was so involved in Rosie's life that sometimes I wanted to cry when I saw another bad thing happened to her.
SO Cecelia Ahern did a great job. I loved this book so much.
I’ll admit that I never read or saw the author’s big hit P.S. I Love You. I hear it’s very good.
I read this book because I saw this:

Love, Rosie
The film is coming out end of 2014 and I can’t wait. Naturally, I had to read the book first!
Funny enough, my husband was out all day and I was more than happy to sit down with this book and read!
There’s a lot of wonderful things about Love, Rosie. (Originally titled Where Rainbows End.) The emails and Instant Messages are clever and funny, getting each character’s personality across clearly. It does read like a script or a play, dialogue driven and a fast moving plot. I love Rosie, who is young and naive but has to grow up very fast. Her story is one of challenge and self discovery. Of course I love Alex, who is misguided and somewhat selfish. I wanted to slap him so many times.
The story is about how they keep missing each other. One is engaged, one is married. One is stuck in Dublin while another is in Boston. There are a lot of missed chances and heavy silences. While I did enjoy the book, I think it was a bit long. By the time I got to halfway, I felt like the things keeping them apart were happening to them again. One is married, now they’re married again, like there wasn’t anything new or refreshing keeping them besides their own stubborness to actually pick up the phone and tell the other one how they felt.
It can be really frustrating when both main characters are keeping secrets from the other and that’s why it’s causing so many problems! GAH!
Also, because the book is told entirely in emails, messages and letters, the format can be a bit tiring. While I devoured the first half, by the second I was dying for some descriptions on their worlds. The supporting characters were fun and added a nice touch to the story, but Rosie’s main friend Ruby was a bit irksome and I was happy when those bits were over.
Overall, the book is a fun fast read filled with romance and heart. I really enjoyed it. It was perfect for a Saturday afternoon.
And I can’t wait to see the movie!!
P.S. – the trailer uses the song “High Hopes” by Kodaline, a band that I saw a year ago when they first came to Los Angeles in this tiny venue. Now they sell out shows. If you haven’t checked them out, DO IT!

When Rosie visits Alex she thinks that this is the perfect chance to tell him what she feels but it’s already too late and Alex have a girlfriend, soon-to-be he’s wife. She comes back home and after a while decides to move on and start dating again. She meets a great guy, having a perfect job and her life’s seems to be perfect, right as Alex getting a divorce.
Suddenly Rosie’s marriage starts to fall apart and Alex has to win her heart over again.
When I started to read the book I went crazy, there are no descriptions and the whole book is writing in conversation style; chats, letters, postcards, emails. Luckily I kept reading and discovered in the main using heartbreaking story. I’m not exaggerating when I say that Cecelia Ahern is a genius! She took my heart away and did with it whatever she wanted. I HATE and LOVE the book at the same time, It was so frustrating every time that I thought ‘this is Rosie and Alex finally going to be together!’ but of course, I was wrong and Cecelia somehow succeeded to ruined it.
For one moment you're happy but then you're sad... Not gonna say how it ended, you have to read at yourself ;)
In the bottom line- if you love romans and you want your heart to explode from love this is the book for you! Amazing and highly recommended!
