About This Data
  • Source: All data comes directly from the offices of the Secretary of State and the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. Special thanks go to the Big Local News project at Stanford University for assistance with production and presentation.

About race calls
  • LAist will share with you when NPR and the Associated Press have made a race call. When a race is called, it is not a projection. As AP notes, such a call is only made "when AP is fully confident a race has been won — defined most simply as the moment a trailing candidate no longer has a path to victory."

Below you'll find the latest results for measures and contests across the city and county of Los Angeles, along with California ballot measures, statewide offices, and local congressional seats.

Please note that these results are not final, but they're getting close since we're past the Tuesday, Nov. 15 cutoff for mail-in ballots to arrive.

Isn't this taking a long time? Not really. Early voters and mail-in ballots have fundamentally reshaped how votes are counted and when election results are known — think of it as Election Month rather than just Election Night.

Here's L.A. County's schedule for the release of new vote totals

  • The vote count as of Nov. 18:

    • 2,441,323 ballots have been processed and counted
    • 80% of those were mail-in ballots
    • 20% voted in person

Los Angeles County

Why don't I see precincts reporting listed?
  • Because of the high volume of vote-by-mail ballots cast, the percentage of precincts reporting is no longer a valuable indication of the outstanding votes to be counted. In the June primary, for example, 85% of the L.A. County vote was by mail.
