The Music Center in DTLA is Hosting FREE Weekly Dance Parties for 13 Fridays in a Row

The Music Center in Downtown Los Angeles is one of the largest and most highly regarded performing arts centers in the country.

This summer, it’s also the place to get your boogie on.

For 13 Fridays in a row (starting this Friday, June 5) The Music Center will host FREE dance parties open to the public!

The Friday events will be split into two signature series: Dance Downtown and Bring Your Own Dance Moves.

All events take place at The Music Center Plaza starting at 7:00pm and ending at 11:00pm.

Check details for each event below.

Dance Downtown will include dance lessons, live band or DJ, and open dance floor. The Music Center encourages you to bring your own picnic if you want to have a bite to eat during the event. Oh, and about those dance lessons, here’s the schedule:

  • June 5 – Salsa
  • June 19 – Line Dance/Two-Step
  • July 3 – Argentine Tango
  • July 17 – Bollywood
  • July 31 – Cumbia
  • August 14 – 70s, 80s and 90s Night feat. Disco
  • August 28 – Samba

Bring Your Own Dance Moves events will take place on the alternate Fridays, and include curated L.A. DJ sessions in collaboration with ArtDontSleep and Dublab, plus a late night bar menu and $5 parking (after 8:00pm).

Peanut Butter Wolf kicks off Bring Your Own Dance Moves on June 12 with Egyptian Lover, and sonic slayer Jimi Hey of Dublab.
