Q:
What time do they open? Are they open on weekdays?
A:
The shops are all open during the weekdays, too. You have to look up the individual places to find out their "open" times.

Little Tokyo offers a variety of shops and restaurants. The places I've visited are usually at the Japanese Village Plaza and I could usually find parking at the Little Tokyo Mall parking garage.
I love the cute white and red lanterns that adorn the Japanese Village Plaza and the wish-covered tree. I don't come here often but the last time I visited happened to also be in December. On my most recent visit, I came with my cousins visiting from San Diego and they loved it! They enjoyed ramen from Daikokuya while I enjoyed an iced latte from Cafe Dulce.
Pros:
- The atmosphere
- Japanese culture
- a variety of shops and restaurants
Cons:
- Parking is hard to findHelpful 18Thanks 2Love this 15Oh no 1 - 6263933010May 4, 2023
I recently visited Little Tokyo in LA and, as always, it brought me so much joy. The area is filled with great food options, fun window shopping, and entertaining experiences. Every time I visit, there are always new stores opening up, and this time I discovered a new mini claw machine store downstairs. It was a fun experience, but I wouldn't expect to win any prizes.
In addition, Little Tokyo has a lot to offer, including Japanese-style lifestyle stores, anime shops, and even a grocery store. I'm not a big fan of anime, but it's still so fun to explore, and I found many useful home items, such as hand roll making tools, in those shops.
There are also many dessert shops and highly rated restaurants in and around Little Tokyo, my favorite one is the udon shop cross street. I highly recommend checking out some of these spots. Overall, I would definitely give Little Tokyo Center a 5-star rating. I can't wait to see what surprises await me on my next visit.Helpful 19Thanks 3Love this 19Oh no 0 - Dec 20, 2023
I live in L.A. almost 10 years and never explored the area. All the time when I saw picks and history of the location, I was amazed to see. My husband and I really enjoyed so much the afternoon there! We really felt in Tokyo, the vibe is different. Christmas celebration is so cool there, Santa Claus is there! Don't forget visiting the mochis store, the temple, eating a good sushi, the price is affordable, and the hidden gem is on the top of The Blue Tree hotel, there is a gorgeous Japanese Garden.

This is always a great sight seeing place and to just enjoy the day. There is so much to see, try, and enjoy. I have been here multiple times and I always find something new.
There are lots of shops, restaurants, and dessert places throughout the whole stretch. Many places to take pics and to sit and relax while taking in Japantown.
There are multiple parking locations in the area but I suggest walking around the whole area because there are some hidden gems.
If you are a fan of anime and Hello Kitty, there are a few famous shops to check out while visiting.
This area tends to get really busy so just be careful. Lots of traffic and lots of people.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jan 21, 2023

Sightseeing in Los Angeles, California...
Little Tokyo is like the Japantown of Los Angeles. It's what lured me to first visit LA...
There was a Hello Kitty exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum ... And I HAD TO go! It was in Little Tokyo and I'm lucky that my friend showed me where to park and how to get around.
Since then, I've always enjoyed visiting Little Tokyo. The food, the shops, the vibe, the decorations, the anime costumes that people wear... LOL! Sometimes, there's live music and a special festival happening! It's really fun, educational, and interesting!
I especially like the Ellison Onizuka Memorial...it's a replica of the Space Shuttle Challenger! Ellison Onizuka is an Astronaut from Hawaii!!!
Note: I parked for free in a loading zone after hours!
See you again, Little Tokyo!Helpful 32Thanks 1Love this 28Oh no 0 - Jun 9, 2023
It's really cute here lots of shops. Lots of food. Parking is crazy but theirs a lot of parking garages where you can park. I paid 20$ for the whole day. It was a nice experience.
