In north-central NM, northwest of Santa Fe; organized Mar 16, 1949 from Sandoval and Santa Fe counties. Site of the Manhattan Project that produced the first atomic bomb. Name Origin: For its county seat, itself named for the Los Alamos School for Boys, established 1925 by Ashley Pond; form Spanish 'poplars' or 'cottonwoods.'

The purpose of this research is to estimate consequences of the assessment limit in two counties: Los Alamos County and San Juan County in New Mexico.
