Description
The original Great War memorial consisted of brass panels bearing the Names, within a cast brass framework which had a castellated arch within which the dedication was inscribed. The sections of the Names panel were divided by Ionic columns, which also adorned its sides. Laurel wreaths decorated the arch. Following WW2 the memorial was adapted by adding panels to the left and right of the WW1 panel. It appears that two of the dividing columns between the WW1 Names were removed and re-purposed to serve as the outside frame for the WW2 panels. The WW2 names are inscribed beneath the years of the conflict and a laurel wreath. When the memorial was re-erected an additional explanatory brass plaque was installed beneath the memorial.
