The Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to get their first points of the season as beat the Mumbai Indians by 31 runs. Despite the high total on the board, Mumbai Indians started strong with the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan going off in the powerplay. Despite the loss of the openers, Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir looked to put MI in the game with regular boundaries till the middle-stages. But regular wickets coupled with the lack of runs meant that the home side came out on top.
Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with an unbeaten 80 as SRH broke the record for the highest-ever team total in IPL history by posting a mammoth 277/3 against Mumbai Indians tonight. Travis Head set the tone by setting the record for quickest fifty by an SRH batter, getting to the milestone inside the Powerplay before Abhishek Sharma bettered it with a blistering fifty of his own.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is set to host its first Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game, in which Sunrisers Hyderabad will square off against Mumbai Indians. Both teams have had a forgettable start to their respective campaigns this season.
