Here are the biggest new rap beefs of 2020.
Who doesn't love a good rap beef? As long as the genre's been around, rap beefs and fights have been as enthralling a part of hip hop culture as the bars themselves. Whether they take the form of raging Twitter fingers or epic diss tracks, hip hop beefs in 2020 are prevalent among rappers at all levels of success. From Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill's latest rap beef, to underground hip hop beefs, these epic feuds will undoubtedly make you want to break out the popcorn.
French Montana vs. Young Thug

This beef includes everything from having more hits than Kendrick Lamar to social media drama.
The list of back-and-forth between these two rappers is a long one (trust us, we've read all of the drama), so we're going to do our best to condense this beef. For the record, all of these posted reactions come courtesy of DJ Akademiks, so we have to thank him for all of this. all started when Montana claimed on Instagram that he had "more hits than Kendrick Lamar." If this is true or not is open to debate, but as far as this beef is concern, this is what opened the can of worms.
Apparently, Young Thug took offense to this claim and responded to French (both posts has since been taken down), however, French didn't like the way Thug came at him, and took to Instagram again to post a pic of Thug wearing a dress (technically it's a crop and skirt, but who's taking notes?), and Thug responded by saying that French blocked him from social media and claiming that it wasn't him in the pic. Then Thug got Meek Mill involved to ask him to post a video of French getting knocked out, then more-back-and-forth, and French threatening to "expose" Thug and, you get the picture by now.

Ma$e vs. Diddy

Back in the mid-90s, Mase and Diddy were on top of the rap world. Today, they're feuding over publishing rights.
In an Instagram post, Mase blasted Diddy over his speech at last year's Grammy Awards, particularly the part where Diddy said that he wanted artists to take back control of their work and that he's now or the artist. Well, Mase has something to say about that, criticizing Diddy over his past business practices and how he still has his publishing rights from 24 years and only giving Mase $20,000 for his work.
Well, Mase wants his publishing rights back, and he also claimed in the Instagram post that he offered Diddy two million to by the rights to his music. Well, Mase claimed that Diddy insisted that he match a European who was offering him more than what Mase was putting up, and he felt pretty insluted. It remains to be seen if Diddy answered back, but what we know so far is the relationship between Diddy and his former partner-in-crime has soured, at least on Mase's end.
Tee Grizzley vs. Royce

This beef is a one-sided affair -- at the moment.
During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Royce said that he asked Eminem -- one of the greatest rappers of all-time -- to hold off on a video that would feature both Grizzly and Royce. Grizzly was perplexed by the decision, to say the least, turning to social media to air our his opinion on Royce allegedly asking Eminem to delay the feature, which he took as a dis to the legend. Some Reddit users have wrote that Royce didn't dis Eminem, but it seems as if the damage has already been done and the beef is firmly in the oven.
Stormzy vs. Wiley

Who ever said rap beefs had to be confined to America?
Across the pond in Great Britian, two of England's biggest rap artists, Stormzy and Wiley, are having a battle that is growing so epic, that the O2 Arena may be the perfect battleground to see who really is the king of rap in the UK. Unlike modern-day rap beefs, this rivalry actually began on the radio, with Stormzy tweeting that he would battle Wiley on "any station he wanted" and would bury him for all the UK audience to hear.
After appearing to not wanting a radio confrontation with Stormzy, the latter took to Twitter again to post how Wiley was "begging" after taking so much smack to him. This was when Wiley appeared to have enough, firing back in a session of tweets saying things like how Stormzy was only talking the talk because he was out of the country, and how he was "coming back to London" and wanting to battle Stormzy at the O2 Arena or the Eddie Hearn, and asked who would want to organize it.
This is getting real, so stay tuned.
Lil Pump vs. Teejayx6

This beef began how a lot of rap beefs start -- stolen flows and territory.
First came the flow, in which Teejay claimed that Lil Pump took his flow and bars, even going as far as to claim that Pump was "afraid" that Teejat would blow right past him. "Wow, everybody tag @lilpump for stealing my flow. Tell that [explicit] I need a song now with me & @kasherquon on it back from when he captioned dynamic duo," Teejay wrote on a now deleted Instagram post.
Call it shots fired.
Lil Pump responded in a still-up Instagram video, saying that Teejay is "playing" with him and insisting that all of his flows and bars were his, not copied from anyone else. Oh, and for good measure, Pump also insisted that he was the "King of Miami," which threw a ton of salt onto the wound of this beef.
Joe Budden vs. Jay Electronica

It all started with a "shots fired," and from there, the beef between Joe Budden and Jay Electronica became real.
The beef began on Budden's podcast, in which, after listening to Jay's new album, Budden laid on much criticism for Jay's album. The criticism didn't hit too well for Jay, who sent a tweet @Rory. That's when Budden responded:
"I never got absolutely mopped around on my own project, either. @ me, not Rory," to which some followers replied that he "never had a project" to begin with. The beef was in the over and cooking at 425 degrees, with Jay responding back: "I never heard your albums bro. May Allah bless your career as a journalist (insert praying hands)."
Ouch.
Of course, Budden couldn't let it go, hitting Jay back with how he "took" him of of his (whatever that meant), and then ending it with wishing Jay peace. After that, te beef began to cool down, with both expressing love to one another, and an old video surfacing of Jay and Budden actually hanging out. In the same article, Jay even mentioned that he actually respects Budden for how he "keeps it real" and "doesn't give a [explicit]."
It's safe to say this beef, while hot for a while, has finally chilled.
Royce Da 5'9" vs. Yelawolf

Yelawolf went on Instagram recently to announce that he was dropping the new "You and Me" video soon, which was filmed at the Fillmore in Detroit. In the caption, he managed to get a little dig at Royce Da 5'9" saying that the "numbers do lie" and telling Eminem to "Get [his] hype man before the wolves do." If you thought Royce Da 5'9" would leave this beef sit cooling in the oven, you would be far mistaken. He hit back at Yelawolf in he comments, saying that he could "remove [him] quicker than [he] deleted this post." Then, Royce went on to quote Marlo from The Wire, saying that he wanted it to be "one way.... But it's the other way."
Nicki Minaj vs. Meek Mill

On February 5, 2020, Minaj took it to another level after seeing that Mill had liked a meme making fun of her new husband. She went on Instagram stories to post, "You a [clown emoji]. [You] do [it] for likes. #TwitterFingers beat women, scared of men." She also posted a photo of Mill looking down at his phone, covering his face with a clown emoji.
Not surprisingly, Mill did not take this well. He hopped on Twitter to lob his own accusations at Minaj. "The only way you can try to kill my career is to say I beat women... talk about ya brother convicted of rape and you been knew and paid for his lawyer ... ya little brother touched that lil girl, too! You know I know... you want me to crash with ya boyfriend and I won't," Mill tweeted. He also tweeted, "You sad you willing to crash your man because you losing now and everybody in the industry know you a bad person! You been knew your brother was raping that little girl. That's why I got away from you!"
Then it was Minaj's turn to respond. She tweeted, "You beat your own sister and taped it. Spit on her and taped it. Kicked me in front [of] your mother and sent her to the hospital. Sucking drake d*ck made [you] feel tough again. Move on." Then, she posted, "Imagine talking about an alleged rape of a child to hurt someone who wasn’t involved just so [people] can dislike me. You can never stand on your own. You won’t tell [people] the mother is on tape asking me for $20 million to make the charge go away [though]. [You] was around. [You] know. See [you] soon."
Mill once again fired back, tweeting, "Surrounded by rapist talking what? Stop playing you picked a great time to be saying I ever put my hands on you ... you full of hate and the whole industry know you full of hate... and ya bag getting low so you wanna destroy me," and "I can’t believe y’all industry people let these people survive this long in the game knowing they really nasty people and have a nasty upbringing... Everybody really know what’s going on! I’m powerful. I'm never scared to speak up!"
It seemed Mill was finally ducking out of the Twitter fight when he posted, "For clarification I don’t hit women and I won’t let my interviews be filled with question about her or any situation to do with her when I come out to do press for my new album! No devils tricks."
Both stars have also been retweeting fan responses to the feud. Nicki Minaj fans have been tweeting, "#IStandWithNicki."
